Hi there,
My partner and I have started our 1st cycle of IVF through the NHS and have reached a point where my partner has one follicle at 20mm. There were two at an earlier scan but one seems to have disappeared.
We've been advised they won't proceed with collection with only one, but can look at going down the IUI route so still a slim chance.
We've been told that this would still count as one of our funded IVF cycles, plus an IUI cycle, so wondered if that is correct? Has anyone else been in the same situation?
According to NICE, a cancelled IVF cycle is defined as ‘one where an egg collection procedure is not undertaken’ and that 'If a cycle is cancelled in this way then it will not count as a cycle and would not be included when considering the number of eligible cycles offered.'
So we're being hopeful that we can challenge the decision but it would be good to hear from anyone who has experienced this in the past.
Many thanks
Richard
