Cycles being cancelled due to coronavirus?

So the belfast regional fertility clinic has just postponed current cycles. Women told today to discontinue stimulating.

I'm at a private clinic nearby but wondering if it will soon follow suit. I'm currently on meds for a FET.

Heartbreaking for these women who have already had cycles cancelled and creates unsurity for others.

Any cycles being cancelled elsewhere?

Oh that’s so sad! Is it a private or NHS clinic?x

It's an NHS clinic that has cancelled. Im in a private clinic. But it's the same doctors that work both clinics x

I’m no expert but private patients are paying huge amounts of money for drugs and treatments so I think private clinics would stay open and functional as long as possible but of the implications of having to refund.

I really don’t believe the country will go into lockdown so I wouldn’t expect them to close at all but I know it must be a worry for you. Hope you can still go ahead!x

Rfc is an nhs clinic with private patients/treatments aswell. The private patients there will b paying big money aswell so chances are if they are cancelled the GCRM could follow suit 😢

I have just finished my Norethisterone and waiting for period to call CRGW to start short protocal injections. I am just keeping an eye on their website and praying when I call to book scan it's ok. This is my first private cycle after two NHS and the thought of loosing money is adding to the stress. Would be totally gutting to try save up again. Fingers crossed everyone!

I have only just had my consent app at the same clinic and they have just ordered my drugs. She said that if anything was to progress they will advise me and their refund policy applies. The drugs are ok for 6 months. I think because we are at least 4 weeks behind in terms of this virus it will be a few more weeks before anything is decided. The NHS have to be cautious due to the volume of patients in and out. I am a school teacher also and we have been advised to prepare for remote learning but again this is just a precaution at this stage.

I’m just hoping that it won’t get to a stage where we have treatment cancelled. It’s so sad that they have had their treatment cancelled and have to go though that again. Just praying it will all work out xoxo

Take care xx

You too .... I think as long as we stay informed and ask them it’ll be ok.

Advice at the moment is we are 10-14 weeks from the peak; well I’m just praying.

Good luck ❤️🥰

I was told yesterday by NHS that everything still going as normal (at the moment) but I decided to put on hold. I dont want to be ill then have egg collection or my partner. Hopefully in a few months can start again 😞 my doctors are bound to cancel everything in the next week anyway. It's sad but understandable too xxx ♥️

Sorry to hear that Littlepeax 😔 I do think you've made a very sensible decision though! The likelihood of cancellation is very high plus like you say you want you and your partner to be healthy as possible. We will know lots more in a few months time xxxx

For now I will enjoy a nice glass of red (this evening lol) xxx

Hope you & bun in the oven are all good 💫🥰

Aw im sorry to scare you! Give them a ring maybe? The info I saw yesterday said that 33 women arriving at their appt on Thursday were told to discontinue their stims. It was on a reputable newspaper too. But maybe they've cancelled some not all? And prehaps depends if your NHS or private?

Keep us posted I really hope you get to continue x

in reply toaamiller405

Yes I really hope so too I think they may prioritise... if patients have started treatment it's a bit harsh for them to stop treatment northern ireland is a low risk atm

aamiller405 profile image
aamiller405 in reply to

Yeah I'm really surprised they cancelled people on stims tbh xo

in reply toaamiller405

Yes definitely is harsh and to soon to cancel treatment it is awful state of panic with a low risk.... Hope things go well for you ❤️

This is super sad news for you to take. I know yours and all our thoughts are with priorities like emergencies but it’s your hopes and dreams and so much of our lives are invested in the cycles emotionally physically as you say not to mention finically.

I really hope this can be resolved. Thinking of you all xxxx
