Hi everyone, I have read that many of you take aspirin to increase chances. I am 5 weeks now (FET) but clinic never recommended it to me. How much do you take and do you take it in the mornings or evenings. I am currently struggling with bad headaches, but think that is due to high blood pressure (which I am being treated for but at times it just peaks). I therefore thought it couldn’t hurt to take a mini aspirin. Thanks for your advice
Aspirin / Headaches: Hi everyone, I... - Fertility Network UK
Aspirin / Headaches
I use to take 1 during the ivf process. But after release to regular doctor my obgyn recommend i take two to help reduce pre-eclampsia especially because i am pregnant with twins.
I've been taking low dose aspirin (81mg) the whole pregnancy, I'm over 38 weeks now. I don't think it hurts because it seems to be standard to recommend it
I was specifically told by my miscarriage clinic not to take aspirin unless there was a medical need as it can actually have the opposite effect to what you want. It’s not the same as taking clexane which is a pretty standard IVF protocol
The Clinic didn’t tell me to take aspirin- it was when I had my first midwife appointment- she said because of my age I was high risk and needed to take it from 12 week
My midwife said exactly the same to me, they told me to take 150mg what did they advise you to take?
I would probably speak to your GP or clinic before taking aspirin. As aspirin is a blood thinner and seeing it that you’re already being treated for your high blood pressure I don’t think it is a good idea to take it unless recommended by a physician.
I hope you feel better soon.
I was told to take 150mg a day as I’m having twins and more prone to preeclampsia. The box says do not take of pregnant so I would check with doc first before taking it. Congratulations and good luck x
Hello there, I echo the comments on here already about speaking with your GP first. I took inhixa (blood thinning injections) with my ivf protocol to aid implantation. My obstetrician then advised me to take aspirin from 16 weeks to 36 as I was already on a blood thinner, but not sure if I actually need it i was never prescribed blood thinners for a medical reason. I dont think it can hurt but I would check with your GP.
Thanks so much for everyone’s replies and support. Sorry for my late reply, yesterday I was just in bed with headache all day yesterday, trying to rest. My blood pressure today is luckily better and I don’t have headache. I usually get these headaches up to AF .... so just really crossing my fingers that is not the case. Last week I had perfect blood pressure, actually better than what I have when not in a treatment cycle. I have read that pregnancy sometimes lowers blood pressure and was hoping that to be the case after my BFP. Now of course I imagine the opposite, or worry of effect of this peak in blood pressure on the little jelly bean ... I guess not much we can do than wait. Thanks so much for your support
I started Aspirin 75mg and Clexane 0.4ml 5 days prior to my FET transfer (due to high blood pressure and previous miscarriage). From week 13 I take 150mg of Aspirin
If you have headache issues, best to speak with your clinic or an OB/GYN. I suffer from migraine, but instead of pain killers, I was prescribed magnesium 150mg 3x daily. I haven‘t had a migraine the last 10weeks (since taking magnesium).
