Incomplete miscarriage

Hello - I had a missed miscarriage and had to take misoprostol to manage the miscarriage. After 2.5 weeks i had a scan and it showed 1.8x1.3x0.9cm of retained tissue. I made the decision to wait until my period to see if it would naturally come out. I did get my period but it was really light anf only last 1.5 days. But i did have spotting where i could see old shredded tissue in my discharge.

My question, if there is still tissue remaining will i have to get a D&C? I am now on my 7th week since the miscarriage.

Hi Mezzie_123 Sorry for your loss As previous posts says best check with GP but if not having cramps, discharge etc sounds as thro all the tissue has been expelled Thinking of you

Janet

Hi, I am so sorry for your loss. I had a MC where I had surgical management but kept getting positive tests for over 3 weeks after the surgery. I bled constantly throughout that time but when I went back to EPU despite not being able to see anything on a scan they did an HCG blood test and it was 14000 so they confirmed I had retained products. You do need to have surgery because it can lead to infections.

I ended up having surgery 2 weeks later, and despite bleeding for all those 5 weeks including passing tissue there was indeed still some retained products.

I would urge you to refer to EPU, get a blood test (if you are still getting positive tests) and book in for surgical management. Don't risk an infection.

Hugs xx

I'm very sorry for your loss. I'm in a similar situation but I've been bleeding for 2 months. Did you ever get everything resolved?
