Less than 2 months after being referred to the Assisted Conception Unit for IVF we already had our funding confirmed by email (although it does not say how many rounds?) and have a first appointment in 3 weeks! It was quick and I am not complaining, but I’m feeling so unhealthy and unprepared.
I take vitamin D, folic acid, ubiquinol 300mg and Inofolic at the moment. I am also doing acupuncture. Do you have any advice for me to feel a little more prepared?
I am usually strong and medicines, injections etc do not scare me, but I am already so scared of failure! 😕

Thank you for your reply. I don’t drink alcohol, coffee and I took these vitamins for a couple of years now. I just don’t feel fit because I don’t have much appetite lately and with this weather I didn’t move much! But I will try, thank you for your advice!
Sounds like your pretty much there then! By all means exercise isn’t compulsory, but if your treatment is successful you might want to be as fit as you can be as it apparently makes things easier 🤷♀️ - I’ll await to see that that’s correct
Sounds like you are doing all the right things! Varied, healthy diet - colourful foods 🥰 Movement and hydration. And try not to worry to much about what you do and what you don’t do - what I have learnt about this journey is that so much of it is completely out of your control, so try be kind to yourself as sometimes there is nothing you did “wrong”. Try enjoy the little steps and perhaps don’t look too much into the “bigger picture” - if that makes sense! I had small goals that I could control, so forgot about the goal about “getting pregnant” - because I cannot control that! So worked a bit on my mindset in preparation too! 🥰
You could perhaps search to see how many rounds your CCG allow under funding - might be available online. I am not sure. We were told by the consultant who referred us for funding how it worked for our CCG.
Wishing you all the best for starting! It will be mixed emotions - but I tried to focus on the excitement of at least getting to try something different as what we had done so far had not worked! Good luck!! 🥰🤞
Thank you for your advice! I will definitely have to work on a healthier diet and more water and movement.I looked at the CCG policy in my area and if I understood correctly it’s one fresh and one FET that they offer but I don’t understand if we have to pay anything such as medicines 🤷🏻♀️ They said they are sending some info in the post so hopefully it’s all explained there! Thank you! Hope you pregnancy is going smoothly x
We got one round funded on the NHS, and we did not have to pay for medications. We had to pay for anything extra - so if we wanted embryoscope etc. Our clinic did not do that as standard, so things like that we had to pay for! But everything else was included! And not sure if we would have got more monitoring scans during stimulations if private, we only had a scan at day 9 to see how it was progressing, but that was fine with us!
Thank you! Hopefully medication will be included for you too in your funding! Xoxo
That's great news, Francesca! Don't worry about feeling unhealthy.. I don't think I would have got through IVF without a drink! Happy you have your first appointment to look forward to. xxx
I’m so happy and super excited for you! You are doing everything you can for a great outcome, remember to give your husband his vitamin too, I hope soon you share your good news 😘
You seem to be doing everything right so might I suggest just taking care of yourself mentally, try and not think about failure going into it. I am a new convert to the Mindful IVF app and keep waxing lyrical about it but I feel it really does work!!
