I’m due to have my transfer tomorrow at 10.30 - I do my pessaries at 6am, 2pm & 10pm. They have to be vaginally.
I have been given 2 different lots of advice from the nurses. 1 said to not do it in the morning & do it when I get home plus the other 2 later that day.
The other said to still do it at 6am as my body would have absorbed it by the time of my transfer & any residue the doctor will clean it away.
I’m worried if I don’t do it will be more than 12 hours without a pessary. Then if I do could the wax stop the embryo from implanting.
Any advice would be incredible. Thanks

I was on cyclogest but I guess same principle? I was told if transfer is more than 2 hours after then it will be OK, if transfer was near the time you usually put it in then put it straight in after. You should be OK at 6am. You're also assuming the clinic will be on time with your transfer, mine was 45 mins late!
I was told it’s ok as long as it’s done 2 hours before transfer. So I’d do if if I was you, saves you worrying. Good luck tomorrow xx
Hey there, I had my transfer yesterday and I’m on utrogestan, I asked exactly the same question as I have always been told to do my cyclogest rectally on transfer day. I was told to take it as normal. I did have 6 hours gap inbetween though and I went swimming that morning- may have helped! I’ve been at a Clinic who also weren’t bothered about cyclogest vaginally prior to transfer.
It won’t affect your embryo implanting, it’s just that the Drs have to spend longer cleaning your cervix so they have a clear path for catheter.
I was told by the nurse you can be flexible with when you take utrogestan, but personally, like you I would be uncomfortable missing the morning dose.. I know transfer was fine for me and it didn’t affect anything,...if you feel better, do the 6am one a little earlier.
I had my transfer on the 14th April at about midday. I did my pessary at 7.30am and it was completely fine. The doctor just used a swab to take out any still there. I got my BFP on the 26th so it shouldn't alter implantation at all. Good luck 🤞🏻
