Has anyone had treatment with Dr Gorgy. I've got high TSH levels. Blood test was done through GP. Was just wondering if he would prescribe levothroxine at the Skype consultation stage or would I need to have had all the immune and results back with him before he will do that. Any advice on next stages would be great. I've got a FET booked but embryo transfer date wouldn't be until mid June. Not sure if il need to cancel it. Have got the Skype consultation with Dr Gorgy on the 7th May. TIA

Hi, it takes about 3 to 4 weeks after starting meds to bring your TSH down. So you should be fine by mid June for transfer, if you get the prescription on May 7th.
I'd agree with Marisa, it took a month for me...got re-tested and went from 2.6 to 2.1. Been taking 25mg since Feb, defintly feel it's help stabilise my hormone levels.
Yours isn't too bad at all. Mine is really high. Not sure if a higher dose is going to bring mine down in 5 weeks. My level was 2.80 before I had my daughter and I wasn't on meds. The ivf clinic didn't have an issue with it as they did the thyroid blood test. This time it's double. Not sure why. 😬
Yes hopefully Dr Gorgy will be able to help. I will explain to him that I've got a FET booked and if its Ok to go ahead or if he thinks I should wait 1 more cycle. Fingers crossed I will be able to go ahead. X
You should be fine to take thyroxine to bring your levels down ahead of your June treatment. Mine were 5.6 ahead of my first transfer and after 4/6 weeks, they came down to below 2. I have them monitored every 6 weeks as my TSH tends to fluctuate. I’m on 50mg daily at the moment. Highest I was on was 75mg when my levels went over 6. Xx
Mine is currently at 10 so I’ve upped my dose to get down. It increased significantly (from 0.27) after a slight dose decrease. If yours is over 5, you should see a good improvement in a months time. Levo is quite potent stuff! Also very important for foetal development especially in first trimester!
Hey thanks for your reply. Yes mine is 6.6😬 if I can get it down in a months time on levo then that would be brilliant. Yes I read that it's really important in first trimester and your thyroid is responsible for babys brain development and foetal development in general. Can't help but think the raised TSH could've been a reason for the early miscarriage. At least I know now and can do something about it. X
Hi Weekitty, i know this thread is old but did you manage to sort your TSH. Usually Gp’s can prescribe it. Mine was 2.5 and my gp gave me some to bring it lower for ttc. I wanted to ask you how was your experience with dr gorgy? I am thinking of going to him for immunes testing. Many thanks
