Has anyone been treated with levothyroxine for sub clinical hypothyroidism? My TSH has recently increased to 3.1 mlU/L and my T4 to 103 nmol/l. My endocrinologist says the t4 is good but has gone down slightly since last time so she will prescribe a small dose.
I am due to start an ivf cycle in a matter of weeks, is this ok? What are others experiences?
Thanks!

I think you’ll be fine to start your IVF cycle if you’re being treated with thyroxine daily from now. My TSH was 5.6 before I started IVF which was high but it came down quickly when I increased my thyroxine dose daily. My T4 used to be low too but it’s levelled out now with being on thyroxine.
What does your endocrinologist and fertility consultant say? Xx
Hiya pre ivf I'm being treated fir slight high hypothyroidism - had a 2.6 reading for TSH started lexothyroxine 25mg a day now re tested its 2.1mg have been advised to continue right up until our ivf starts and throughout it at the end of the month. Your reading isent too bad and will soon come down with the medication. Good Luck ❤ X
Hi Lozza. Hopefully the small dose of levothyroxine will reduce your thyroid level to below 2.5 which is what is preferred before commencing IVF. Just another hormone to stabilise, then hopefully all will go well. Good luck! Diane
Hi, my clinic wouldn't even do IVF until my TSH was under 2 preferably 1. It took around 3 weeks with medicine to get it down. Once my thyroid was fixed, I found out I got pregnant naturally before starting stims.
Levothyroxine 25mg would be enough to bring your levels down. I was 4.63 prior to starting, then went down to about 2.5 ish. When I got pregnant in september my level was exactly 1.0 then went down to 0. 93.... So my experience is between 1 and 2 is best. X
