Embryo transfer tomorrow -acupuncture

Hi I’m going for my embryo transfer tomorrow. My mother in law is trained in reflexology, acupuncture and is also a retired midwife. However I have been seeing a traditional acupuncturist and was planning to go just after embryo transfer but my mother in law said she wouldn’t advise this as it’s an energy release.

I’m not sure what to do now. Should I going before instead?

Hi,

The areas they place the needles after a transfer are different as then it's about assuming you are pregnant and doing what you can to protect the embryo. If you went the day after transfer they would place the needles in places to encourage implantation and focus your energy to do this.

I would ask yourself what is best to keep you positive, calm and in a good place. If you are unsure and have the doubt about going, don't go. Also you don't need any MIL agro at this time! Acupuncture can be amazing but it's just one part so if you left it a week after transfer that would equally help and you are doing all the right things to make this work.

Thank you for reply. I’ve just rang my acupuncturist and he is booked up tomorrow so thats puts pay to that anyway haha. So I’ve booked in for tonight instead. He said it’s best to do before and after transfer as most info says. I might book again for the Friday, as I’m off work.

Thank for for your kind words. I’m very grateful to have gotten to where I am. I got 4 eggs at egg collection, 3 were mature and all three fertilised. Yesterday was day 3 and all growing and dividing as they should, graded 1 and 2. One had even started compacting yesterday. I’m so happy and positive this time! Thanks again xx

Well that helps with that decision! I booked a week after transfer too as helped give me something to focus on during the 2ww and broke up the time to save me going slightly mad!Excellent work in getting 3/4 fertilised that's fantastic and really pleased you had a positive 3day update. I had the same for my second round and 2 made it blast and the other needed a bit more time and sadly couldn't be frozen but I was thrilled with that. Hoping to transfer my frosty in a couple of months.
