Difficult embryo transfer

hi girls,

I had my frozen transfer yesterday.

The transfer was difficult in the sense that the doctor couldn’t see my uterus well on the ultrasound as bowel gas was covering. She tried for 30 mins and states she put in where she thought it should go.

Has anyone else experienced any problems?

I’m overthinking everything as it’s my last embryo.

Thank you 💗 xx

I had a tricky one as she found scar tissue (I suspect from treatment from previous letz)

It probably took about 30mins too. She managed to do it okay in the end but was definitely sure it was correctly done. She assured me of that, even showed me the video of it shooting up.

Doesn’t sound reassuring she’s put it in where she “thought” it should be. I’d need reassurance. I mean surely it can’t go anywhere it’s not? Did you get to see it on the screen?

I hope so. I know what you mean though, the other two I’ve had she’s always said perfect transfer. It’s reassuring to know that some clinics don’t even use the ultrasound and are successful. Gives me some hope. Test on 25th xx

hi lovely,

I had a really tricky one for my 6th transfer. It took 20 mins+ and was quite painful. There wasn’t any reassurances that it was in the “right place” because as long as it’s in the uterus it will implant where/when it is ready. I learned that the uterus is actually flat when not pregnant, like a deflated balloon so even if they popped it wherever the catheter ended, it would be fine. It will stick in there like a grain of sand in a peanut butter sandwich.

My 6th transfer was successful

Try not to worry xx

Thanks for this, I always wondered if I had an ectopic because it was placed in wrong place x

Hi, I know it’s difficult but try not to worry about this. My clinic doesn’t even use ultrasound at transfer, as long as the catheter has passed through the cervix into the uterus, the embryo will be in the right place. Your Doctor is highly experienced and wouldn’t have taken any risks. Best of luck to you x
