Embryo transfer low ovarian reserve

Hello

I hope everyone is well - I’m looking for some insight on what is required for embryo transfer? Do they monitor your cycle wait for you to ovulate then do the transfer? Or is there medication need to be taken leading up to it? I have very low ovarian reserve my 3rd period after egg collection is late again and I’m starting to freak out that I won’t get to embryo transfer as my periods are all over place and my low ovarian reserve 😞 any success stories with low ovarian reserve? Im clutching at straws for some hope - thanks

Hi- at my clinic they can do either one (natural or medicated Frozen embryo transfer) however for the natural FET they like your periods to be quite regular so they might recommend a medicated FET for you where they do stimulate ovulation timing. Now that you have your eggs collected your ovarian reserve shouldn’t really affect the odds as you’ve done the hard part for that 🤗 wishing you lots of luck! Xx

Ps it’s really normal for cycles to be out after egg collection for a lot of ladies 🤗 xxx

Aww dont worry they will help regulate your cycle for transfer 🤗 have you to call with your next period? Or are you giving it a few months xx

Tbh I wasn’t aware this would be an obstacle 🙈I had my first collection Oct and then 2nd collection Jan and I was thinking by now I would of had a transfer. They said give it another week or so and then I have to call the clinic to see what they say. I was hoping my cycles would of been back on track already afterJan collection 😞 how has your journey been? Xx

Ah I see, I had that before and they tested my blood to see what was happening and if a period looked imminent and when it didn’t they gave me some tablets to induce it so we could get going … they normally have a trick up their sleeve so try not to worry too much (easier said than done I know I’m such a worrier 🤪🙈) ! I’ve been on the journey for about 7 years now but we had success in 2020 with our little boy but back trying for a sibling with a few failed frozen but moving to a new fresh cycle soon (hopefully if my AMH comes back okay) the whole thing is just one big rollercoaster isn’t it 🤗 xx

Ok thanks you see when they started your cycle off was it good cycle? Cause they have said to me it’s likely it won’t be a proper period 😐 wow 7 years so pleased you got your baby boy in the end 🙏🏻 Fingers crossed you are able to have another one 🙏🏻 Xx

I think it was a bit different to my normal in length and heaviness but I was to start a frozen transfer where they down reg you anyway (so they gave me a prostrap injection on day 21) so there was another bleed before transfer (they check lining thin enough) from that and then they build back up your lining with drugs check lining thick enough and then transfer so the initial bleed was just to get my ‘day 21’ for the prostrap and doesn’t really matter for the transfer much. I know clinics all do their medicated FETs slightly different though as some don’t do the full down reg with prostrap and just use nasal spray for a bit but I think it’s essentially the same aim around your lining and the scans you get to double check it all xx
