Hi ladies, any advice for me. I'm hoping to have my embryo transfer tomorrow afternoon. I was updated yesterday saying we still had 6 embryos, 2 good and 4 average. I was told to go in tomoro afternoon for transfer, but they'll ring me in the morning if there any problems with them. I'm so nervous now. I just hope they are doing well and we can go ahead tomoro. Any advice for the transfer, do you eat before going, what's best to wear? x
??? Embryo transfer tomorrow - Fertility Network UK
??? Embryo transfer tomorrow
Hope all goes well tomorrow I Don't know about eating would wear comfy clothes tho x
I couldn't eat beforehand as was having general anaesthetic. Definitely recommend loose fitting clothing - particularly around waist/tummy!
Make sure you chill out the rest of the day - good luck for tomorrow! Xx
Good luck! How long have you been advised to take off work to recover? X
I'm still sore from EC, so won't be rushing back this week, clinic hasn't mentioned it x
It’s good that you have plenty of time to rest. My belly is still like a massive balloon after EC and I’m back to work today xx
That's a shame your back today, couldn't you have gone off on sick for a few days? x
I did think about it. I always feel so guilty. Don’t think Work particularly care to be honest..I might get a sick note after transfer, just so I can give myself time to rest. Work are gonna hate me cos I’m always off at the moment. How have your Work been? Do they know? X
Yes my work know what I've been going through. I work in the NHS, so I'm lucky I get paid sick leave, and haven't been off for over a year. Ive had to travel 1 hour approx to hospital and back again for appointments, then been going to work, so I've tried not to take advantage. At the end of the day our treatment is so important to us, we have to look after ourselves. Just see how you feel, and if you need time off take it, look after yourself x
Hello, I had my transfer last month and so far going well (am 6.5 weeks). I can only say what worked for me - I tried to be as relaxed as possible during the transfer - did a bit of mindfulness breathing and thought happy/optimistic thoughts. I wore loose fitting comfortable clothes to travel home in. I took a couple of days off after but was still active on day of transfer and afterwards - walked for 30 mins to an acupuncture appointment a few hours after transfer. The only other advice I revieved which I followed was to only eat warm food and drinks after transfer for the following two weeks as in Chinese medicine they say that helps encourage implantation and not take energy away to warm cold foods up to body temperature. Anyway, I hope that this is helpful and best of luck for your transfer today.
I'm also 6.5 weeks too. I have my first scan next Tuesday (It can't come quick enough) I hope everything is ok & we see our baby. How did you journey go? This is my first IVF and first BFP. Suffering with morning sickness, cramps, extreme tiredness and sore breasts...x
