Access fertility unlimited ivf programme

Hi,

Has anyone used the access fertility unlimited ivf programme? We're trying to decide which option to go for and wondering realistically how many cycles you'd be able to have over the 2 year period? Or if the multi cycle option of 3 cycles would be enough both physically and mentally. It's hard to know until you start and we don't want to make the wrong so hearing about other people's experiences would be really helpful, thanks.

We did the 3 cycle 50% refund. We had 2 fresh and 2 frozen cycles from that and we withdrew after our second fresh (none to freeze) as I couldn’t put myself through any more...2 pregnancies...2 losses. We got our refund minus an admin fee. I also has 2 cancelled cycles, one of which I should have been charged for but wasn’t. The programme only covers the cost of one cancelled cycle. We were on the programme for around 20 months. Our clinic never charged us for any extras but the small print implies they should have so check carefully what is included..eg. It only includes consultation after fresh cycle, not frozen. Good luck in deciding x

Thankyou Chi17. So sorry to hear of your awful experience, I can understand not being able to put yourself through anymore after that. Hope you are doing ok and thanks for your advice x

Hi Purplewave what a great post! Wish I’d known about this site & asked this question 🙈 we’ve unexplained infertility & tests to date showed no issues with amh, male factors etc.

We signed up for the 2 cycle program backing ourselves that’d be all we needed. The first cycle which started Jul-20 was a disaster (turns out I’m a poor responder & they scheduled us too early for EC) basically was a total waste of an attempt, no blasto cultivation etc.

Just done second cycle (Mar-Apr) after a cancelled cycle in Jan. Better as day5 transfer (ended in a chemical pregnancy) & one emby in freezer.

However I’m already considering our third cycle... and how we finance it - would we do another 2 cycle Access F even?!

Unsure if you’ve any known factors to consider but when I looked the other night I wished we’d done the 3 cycle refund package.

Not sure if this helps. But a lot of ppl have said on here before the first cycle can be hit and miss.

Good luck with whatever you decide darling 🤞💐❤️

Thankyou Che138, that's helpful. I guess the first cycle is always a bit more unknown as to how you will respond to everything. We've got our consultation next week so will see what the consultant says before we make any decisions but thankyou and good luck x

We didn't go for any package! We were very niaeve and didn't realise it would likely take a few goes! (In my opinion We were also mis-sold and falsely led down the pay as go you route, but that's another story). If I were doing it again I'd definitely go for a package. Probably the unlimited, just to take away the worry about 'is it enough'. If you know the sperm and egg quality are good then probably 3 is enough, but if ones goes wrong for whatever reason it adds to the worry. We've actually only needed one egg collection (at the moment), but got lots of embryos and may not need it at all. But we have to pay for each transfer and so we could have had a package and still saved money!!! There is a worry that you wouldn't get many more than 3 in the time period anyway, but it just depends. If get hardly any embryos or not enough to transfer / freeze, you easily would.

Thanks LSandJ for sharing your experience. My partner thinks we should go for the unlimited option but I'm just not sure how many times we could go through it in a 2 year period to know if it would be worth paying for it. But I get that at least you then don't have to worry about not having enough goes egg. Best of luck to you x

Hi I am currently with access fertility. 50% refund package. I applied for 75% refund but they declined.

I m 35, AMH 10. Husband was 38 when we applied and has low sperm motility. Other that we both fit and well. Our very first nhs cycle was a failure with no frozen embryo. I think that was the reason they refused to give me 75% refund package.

Now I had 2 cycles with them. One last year and one this year. Still no success.

It takes a lot of physical and mental stress. Your body need a few months to recover between the cycles. I don't think I can do more than 2 cycles per year as I still need to think about my annual leaves etc. Pls let me know if u have more questions.

Thanks so much for the helpful info P2021. That's what I was thinking too, each cycle must take it's toll so not sure how many would be realistic over 2 years. Need to wait to see what the consultant says and results from our tests I'm just trying to plan ahead as want to get started asap.Good luck to you on your journey x
