Has anyone used Access fertility for 40+ (multi cycle programme)? Need help

Hi All,

I want to use the Access multi cycle programme for my next cycle. As i am 40 i can only use the multi cycle package.

I wanted to know whether the service is in anyway compromised, or reduced monitoring if i am an Access patient rather than the clinic directly?

The clinic i want to go for is probably the 2nd best in London if not UK in terms of success rates for over 40’s. Access would make a big difference on price hence why i was wondering do the clinic cut corners with Access patients.

Secondly, in the criteria it says fresh transfer - however, if i wanted to freeze all eggs, or doctor decided it was best to freeze all, would that invalidate my elegibilty?

Thanking everyone in advance for your responses.

xx

Hi, I’ve used access fertility for multi cycle. I am 39 🙄 I’ve had one failed fresh cycle. I had one other embryo to freeze which I’m starting my down regulation (for a FET) later this month which is included (but the drugs are a separate cost). I then have another fresh cycle paid for which covers the multi cycle element and again I believe if we have any frozen embryos they will be included in that cycle too.

I think that’s all we are entitled to but don’t quote me on it!x

Hey, I used them (was 38).

I’m my experience (Bourn Hall Cambridge) no corners were cut, it was great service.

You pay for ‘rounds’ of IVF including egg collection and transfer. So if you have any spare embryos to freeze after the first go, you have to use those first before you can do another fresh round. I got 2 frozen, so I wouldn’t say be able to bank those and do any more fresh egg collections before trying those.

So you could end up getting more goes at transfer than the actual rounds you have if that makes sense.

Best of luck, hope it works xxx

Thank you. So they literally make you use all enbryos before the next cycle?

Yep - as it’s a gamble how many you’ll get it’s a bit of an unknown xx

I used it for our two private rounds. Having never done a private round outside of them I’m not sure about the monitoring ? It’s all listed on the booklet that they email you . All the things included are on it.

I noticed the other day that ultra sound guided transfer was on it snd I didn’t have that on my first transfer 🤷🏼‍♀️ the dude doing it said he could do them with his eyes closed to which I responded .... and could he know my womb is tilted to the right with his eyes closed?!!!! They agreed to make sure it happened the next time.

I guess you’d hope they would not cut corners but I defo didn’t have as many bloods .... mmmm actually no bloods during second stims and egg collection .

You would need to discuss specifics with your clinic to ensure you don’t feel robbed of stuff!

The way I see it the clinic gets paid from them after each step so I don’t think they’d skip or else they can’t apply to be paid ? If that makes sense.

Message if you need to know anything,

🦏🐈x

Oh sorry for confusing you. I am at a clinic in Northern Ireland with same results for my age as top clinic in London. Make sure you look on the HFEA website for the clinic you are looking at and select the age group etc that you are in to see the true results. Access fertility works with a lot of clinics across the uk but not them all . Hope that helps 😘

Ps it’s a third cheaper buying two rounds at once but it doesn’t include any drugs which is guts of £2000 a collection and transfers
