Egg collection tomorrow

I have finally got to egg collection. I go in tomorrow morning 14.04.21

Unfortunately they have only seen two follicles I am 44 but I’ve just got to hope for the best and firstly hope they have eggs inside and do well and the second hope is that we get a couple more just to freeze.... very doubtful 😅

I’m thankful to get to this stage as there was points when I really didn’t think it would happen.

All going well I will have a 3 day transfer probably on Saturday?

Hi Daisyjulia good luck and fingers crossed all goes well tmrw. I have a scan early tomorrow and that might determine the egg collection date but should be these days either way.

This is the first ivf cycle for us and first attempt so let's see...I have mixed emotions but hope for good news. You will have transfer immediately? And hope you don't mind me asking but is this your first ivf or ?

We have gone for batching cycles so after this we will have another attempt.

Please let me know how it goes as I am so scared of the intervention itself. I don't what to expect or how it will evolve.

Thank you! It’s a really great idea to batch! Something I wish I had maybe looked into so it’s great that your clinic is guiding you this way.

Unfortunately it’s my second cycle as first failed in October/November and so I rested over Christmas hoping to start again in jan but my hormones always seemed to play up when it came to start cycles..

I will have my egg collection tomorrow Tuesday 13th then fingers crossed all going well .... and that’s the thing I’ve learnt is to get through each milestone that for me is each day after collection to see if my eggs fertilise and they are okay to transfer 3 days later. My last cycle my only two follicles fertilised well and I transferred two lovely eggs they just didn’t stick. No reason for it ... it’s just how it is ..I did everything I could have and have done this again this time. So I’m going for second time lucky 🍀

I’ll keep a look out for your results too and send you lots of luck honestly you will be fine I always phone the clinic even fir the little things as it’s important so just do the same oh the retrieval I found fine I don’t remember much of it after either I was in a daze hahaha take care xxx

Hello ! Just an update Im out of the clinic, the procedure went so easily felt very relaxed the consultant said that he managed to get 2 eggs !!!! 🥚 I am so so happy !! I spoke to the embryologist last and he said that the sperm was also fine so we won’t be doing ICSI. They will ring me tomorrow before 12.... fingers crossed 🤞 speak soon xx

Embryologist has just rang to say that 1 has fertilised they are giving the other one a couple more hours he said he has sometimes seen them fertilise later but this may be unlikely ... he will be ringing again later ... I’m pencilled in for a 3dat transfer ... come on eggs 🥚🙏🏻🙏🏻

Day 2 phone call.

Egg has 4 cells and is currently graded at 3 ... (1 being the best..) embryologist said this may be because it has just formed to 4 cells but it is still in the running... 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️

Transfer complete ❤️🙋‍♀️ 6 cell grade 3 embryo in ... they said it had some uneven cells and a little fragmentation .... but hey it’s now it’s right place. My partner was able to come in with me this time and so it felt so much more special . It is a uncomfy procedure but it’s not for long and I’m thankful to get to this part. ❤️❤️ thank you for your support .... This is the most amazing forum of sisters for finding about every part of the journey from the most generous of hearts 🥰.

6days past 3 day transfer .. 17:00hrs my trigger has gone - I tested on a frer. No symptoms ... holding my breath now for some sort of line tomorrow to appear .. not feeling that positive now though . Positivity only coming in little waves .. it’s still so early. But just know a little too much of how this can go 😣🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

11 days past 3 day transfer and I have begun bleeding with period type cramps ... I have lasted longer on this transfer but it’s a fail again ... it’s just so devastating 😢

Thanks Queen crab, I don’t think we will .... it was our second self funded try. I would gladly go again but I’m trying to recover emotionally .. I really thought this was it ! So it’s really knocked me and I’m struggling still. I hope you are doing okay - All the best in your journey too! Thanks again xxx
