Sorry you are going through this. I know how stressful it is. A similar thing happened to me on my first cycle. Because i had an AMH of 25, they gave me the lowest dose of meds, but i didnt really respond. Unfortunately my cycle was cancelled - that was a choice I made, with advice, because at the rate my follicles were growing, they were predicting about 2/3 eggs (in my second and third cycles i have had 11 and 19 eggs, respectively, with the right dosage). But at the time I remember reading other peoples experiences, and I know for some there can be a turnaround.
It’s so tough. I wish I’d cancelled my first cycle when things looked like yours. Try to go with their advice and fight the urge to plough on. They will have learnt from this stim set and will be better at gauging for your body response next time. See how it goes in a couple of days. A lot can happen too. 🙏🏻 praying you have the strength to make the right decision 🙏🏻💖💐💐💐💐💐
Thank you, it’s so emotional and I feel like I’ve been on the journey for so long and it’s doesn’t seem to get any better or easier and I’m left feeling like a failure. How long do they wait before you can start another cycle? I’m also worried because I’m 34 with low amh and endo and feel like it’s never going to happen 😞 xx
I wish I was 34 😘 I’m 39 and turn 40 in a few months. You’ve still got time 😘 they might just ask you to wait until you’ve had one normal
Bleed after and then you should be ok to start again if you feel mentally strong enough. Better a paused and abandon cycle than to keep going and use up funds on a complete disaster of a round. Hopefully 🙏🏻 they will make it easy for you to decide the best option 😘💖💐
Hi Chocolatemonster1 , do you mind me asking how many follicles you have? I’m in a similar position, started stims last Tuesday went today for a scan and only 2 follicles. My first round I only got 3 follicles and 2nd round none. xx
Hi Kate, they have said I have 3 so far but not grown a lot for saying it’s been 12 days. With your first two rounds did they still go ahead with that amount? Xx
Hello, my consultant said not to go through with IVF as with only 3 follicles not guaranteed any eggs / good quality (I have low amh, high fsh and nearly 40), we switched to IUI so not to waste what we had done, it ended in a chemical pregnancy. This round I am on a high dosage but only 2 follicles so unless anything changes will switch to IUI again. I would say if nothing has changed by your next scan I would cancel and talk with your consultant about next round and upping your dosage.
What is your protocol? Biggest thing is what your estrogen levels are. I just went through 5 banking cycles where I stimmed from 18-21 days each - basically I was on short protocol with estrogen priming (likely oversupressed at beginning of cycle). I basically did nothing for 5-7 days but they could see an estrogen rise. I was allowed to decide and I went on. All went well in terms of #s and embryos. Do what makes sense for you, but could be good to know your estrogen as that tells them whether anything is happening (or starting). Good luck!
I’m on the ‘long protocol’ started down reg, had a bleed then started stims on 8th day of cycle and now I’m on day 20. I have got a blood test as well as a scan tomorrow so hopefully that should tell them more. From speaking to the nurse yesterday it’s not looking great and perhaps starting over might be a better option xx
This happened to me as I had a good AMH so they gave me a low dosage, they then kept plying me with drugs for a month and nothing changed. If they give the option I would redo the cycle with a higher dosage to start with as mine didn't change xxx
