Hi Everyone - hope you are well. Here’s a little update for my sanity.
I had a scan today to check progress.
Day 8 of being on sims (when I take my dose tonight) Started Fyremidel on day 6.
All seems ok? Maybe slow progress. Dr said they are waiting for the four biggest on the left to reach 17/18 before I go for egg collection which might be this Friday (4 days time) or the following Monday. I wonder how many I will get? Will it be just the big ones?
What I don't want is to over cook them or for them to be too mature!!
Figures bellow if anyone is interested.
What isssss worrying is that my husband went out and got drunk on Friday with a late night (I was absolutely fuming) and has now developed a chest infection or cold virus. TYPICAL! I am worried that this is going to affect his sample as his figures are already not great (icsi recommended due to this) I’m petrified of catching this now too.
Guess there is nothing we can do but keep calm.
I’ll try to make him sleep in the spare room again 🥴

hey 👋 that seems like you might get a fair few! On my last scan before egg collection the nurses told me any follicle >12 is most likely to have an egg in it (although does vary by person but as a rough guide!) so if you still have a few more days of stimulation then you might get a few more extra small ones caught up? Sorry to hear about your partner, definitely make sure he tries to keep his temperature down as that will help x
Hi, these are good numbers. I'd say if your egg collection is on Monday you could get around 9-11 follicles with eggs. If egg collection is on Friday you could get around 5-7 follicles with eggs. Bear in mind if you wait til Monday you may risk losing your dominant follicle ie the 16mm one. Wishing you all the best.
Just a thought, if your husband’s sample is impacted, could they freeze your eggs and then collect another sample in a few weeks? It will add to cost but might be worth it overall? Good luck x
Not a good idea unless you are under 30- eggs are less likely to survive a thaw than an embryo which is more resilient. You can freeze sperm tho which might be a good option. When my husband was potentially going away during my egg collection the clinic said he could freeze his sperm beforehand
Sure it’s a personal choice, thawed my 40 year old eggs and have a BFP from it, currently just under 30wks and used donor sperm and did ICSI. 3 out of 3 survived the thaw.
