So some of you may have read my previous posts about my haematoma I am 7 weeks. ( subchironic haematoma) I am taking cyclogest pesseries twice daily which many of you will know can use rectally or vaginally. Before this SCH I was always using vaginally but since 10 days ago using rectally only. My question is any other ladies with a haematoma bleeding did you continue vaginally or switch rectally today I am reading some studies they did the ladies used the cyclogest vaginally during the trial with good results. Progesterone is supposed to help a SCH environment but now confused if this also true when rectally. I am actually bleeding more! Thank you 🥲

Hi sunset. I won't hurt to swap and change the way you use the pessaries, as long as it is comfortable for you. Hopefully the haematoma will slowly reabsorb, as the placenta forms properly. Thinking of you. Diane
Sorry to hear about your SCH! I know it’s super stressful as I had one too at 12 weeks.Whilst I don’t have any advice re pessaries, please go on bedrest while you’re bleeding, make sure to have lots of vitamin C, ALA is supposed to be helpful too. Try not to stress, in most cases they resolve and don’t cause issues. But it’s really important to be on bedrest while you’re actively bleeding
Thank you so much, sorry to hear you experienced this scary bleeding too! It takes over your mind at times! Congrats how many weeks are you now? When did your bleeding fully resolve and how many weeks did it last? Did your clinic continue your pessaries beyond the 12 weeks with you actively having a SCH at that time... i read some reports online that the progesterone can help speed up the size until bleeding completely resolves but who knows!. My nurse said it would only be until 12 weeks of pessaries regardless with a tapering down x
I didn’t actually take pessaries because at that point (almost 13 weeks) I was off progesterone.I bled on and off for three weeks, was definitely scary. I’m now almost 31 weeks! At my 20 week scan they saw the SCH but it was a big inactive clot so they weren’t concerned about it.
I had lots of vitamin C, lots and lots of liquids (water, tea, bone broth), took 600mg ALA. I think it all helped. Hang in there, it’ll be ok! xx
Thank you so much and congratulations wow not long until the birth now for you excited for you! Do you know what your having or keeping the sex a surprise? Xx
Thank you! I’m so excited too, I’m just starting to actually believe that this is happening. We’re having a girl! Keep me posted as to how you get on. I know being 7 weeks you probably feel that you’ve got forever to go, but take it one day at a time, rest up as soon as you bleed and take Vit C. If you’re on Facebook, there’s a great group called Subchorionic Hematoma & SCH support group. Girls there are so helpful!
