Severe bloating despite not being on treatment? Advice needed pls...

Hello everyone,

Hope all are doing the best they can. I need some advise and hope that you can help.

In my last cycle, my follicles weren't responding well enough so the cycle was aborted. I have been off medication for about 2-3 weeks but am to start in mid April again when I get my period.

I am experiencing severe bloating the last 1.5-2 weeks and I would really like to know if anyone has had this despite stopping medication 2-3 weeks ago. I did a test for UTI and it was negative. Everytime I eat, I swear I look like a pregnant women and my tummy is hard to the touch. It doesn't go down much either the next day. My GP surgery is not sure whats causing this...

Any feedback? This is really stressing me out as I don't know where to go for help. I experienced this last Dec as well and my IVF Dr checked and confirm there was no swelling /cyst in/on the ovaries.

Did anyone else experience this?? Please advise, thank you.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I don't have any experience of this myself (except when taking or withdrawing from the medications) but just wondered, and I could be way off, could it be IBS? (perhaps triggered by the medications).Wishing you the best of luck.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I am trying to figure out if it is IBS or related to all the hormone injections. I am not sure if I had IBS before but post starting IVF treatment, this is like 10x worse. It is stressing me more than the IVF process itself.. Hoping things get better.

It sounds like the last thing you need, IVF does so much to our bodies anyway, without extra stuff being thrown in the mix. I do hope you're able to find some answers/solutions before too long.
