Hi all
I am on the waiting list for FET. Could be a month, could be 6 before we start. I was offered Covid-19 vaccination as a front line worker, teacher. Shall i do that? Is it woth doing one dose? What do you lovely people do?
I am trying to contact my clinic for some advice but couldn't help but wonder..
From personal experience, I would advice to go for it and if you fall pregnant, before you get your second dose, then don’t. At least you will get some immunity then...
From previous posts on this topic, it seems most IVF clinics are now advising to get the jab but there is variation on when it is okay. So if I were you, I would double check with your clinic first. Also see link from British Fertility Association on this very subject.

Hi, I had a failed fresh transfer then I’m waiting to do an FET in April. I had my first dose a few weeks back. If I fall pregnant I won’t have my second. I would go for it and at least get some immunity. Hope all goes well.

I had mine 10days prior to my final FET. I won’t get the 2nd one unless something changes but it had no effect what so ever on my outcome unless positive. (Got my BFP) My clinic advised if offered to take it, but no less then 7 days prior to transfer.

Hey there. I had mine yesterday and hoping to have transfer in about 3 weeks. It has completely floored me exactly like having covid but should be fine tomorrow. So my advice would be to have it but not too close to your transfer. I'll decide about the second dose if we get our positive and see what the clinic advise at the time. Xx
My post is exactly the same as Kbear83’s, had mine last week and hopefully will do my transfer in the next few weeks. Felt awful for a few days but glad I’ve had it. 2nd jag is in may so I’ll decide nearer the time if I’ll get it xx

I had my second vaccine dose on Monday. Currently on buserelin but I asked plenty of people including the clinic who said it was fine. I am a radiographer so classed as high risk working in a hospital.
Had the first dose without asking anyone just after having my first round of ivf cancelled due to covid lockdown and really pleased that I did. I would have been happy with one dose only if I had been told that I couldn’t have it as it gives good protection apparently so if you have the chance then I would say go for it.
The hospital where I work is recommending the vaccine to pregnant staff and the current guidance from RCOG and the government support this. My only hesitation would have been knowing that I needed paracetamol for the mild side effects for a day or two so pleased I managed to fit it in before I start stimulation.

Hi as with the others I would say go for it as the risks of not having it outweigh the risks of having it and that is what my consultant thought when I discussed it with him. I’m due my next round of ICSI soon and will be having my second jab on 7th April and have been advised I need to wait 2 months after my second jab before having treatment. They did advise that things are constantly changing so to keep ringing and checking so I’m going to ring again next week and check if that’s still the case. Hi, I personally have decided not to get it. I'm not anti vaccines and for years got the flu vaccine which I had a reaction to the past two years. I'm 17 weeks pregnant and it's just a gutt feeling to say no to this vaccine and cocoon instead. I had covid this time last year and was in an antibody study and had antibodies up to last Oct...don't know if I still do but taking my chances. I was with my consultant last Tues and my impression is that the consultants are undecided themselves. Sorry to come on with a totally different point of view and I wish you the very best of luck 🥰
I’m personally with KevsMom. I have decided not to have it again just based on a gut feeling rather than anything else - and I’ve always been taught to go with my gut! I think there is no right and wrong, it’s such a personal decision but whatever decision you make will be the right one xx
Yes definitely. There is no evidence that you will have any adverse effect from it, there is a high risk of you getting and spreading a deadly virus is you don’t, and it’s the responsible thing to do, especially in your job role. I know it’s so easy to panic about everything we put into our bodies when trying to conceive, but you just have to trust the best medical minds that we have. Wishing you all the best for your FET. I would have it... I’m 25 weeks pregnant and just getting over Covid- it’s really not been nice and has hit me really hard, been struggling to breathe just walking to the kitchen, I would have really preferred to have the vaccine xx
i am 18 weeks pregnant and now booked to have my 1st vaccine. i am a frontline healthcare worker. i had several conversations with midwifes involved with the vaccines at the hospital where i am having my maternity care and the hospital where i work and the evidence that is coming out of Israel and the US (where vaccines are being administered to pregnant women) show so far no harm in pregnancy. this is for the Pfizer vaccine but no indication from the UK that there have been adverse effects from the AstraZeneca either. i'd def have it if I wasn't pregnant but trying for a baby. i have seen very very sick pregnant women at my hospital and definitely don't want that for me or my baby. one of the midwives also told me that the second wave has definitely shown that pregnant women are more vulnerable to severe illness so unless you are able to shield if you get pregnant you will have to balance the risks of the vaccine vs catching covid. it's not an easy decision, ive been deliberating literally for months. X
Thank you all for you comments. I have booked a slot on Saturday. My clinic says they cannot advise me on taking or not taking vaccination. Not helpful at all.Thanks gods for that forum!
