Vacuuming 3 days after egg transfer yes or no?

Hi ladies

I know this sounds like a daft question but is it safe to vacuum I'm 3 days post egg transfer. I made the mistake of googling and found some posts saying avoid but I'm bored out of my mind and my house could do with a clean lol. Did anyone else carry on as normal? Thanks x

I'd say no but I don't like housework, and quite often the hoovering is my husbands domain!!! Perhaps give it a couple more days then get back to normal xx

I did some around the house. I didn't lift the vacuum at all, I got my OH to do that so just dragging around a fairly light vacuum cleaner I think was ok.. Our doctor who did the transfer pretty much said that normal activities (except swimming and bathing) were fine in the tww xx

I think what you need to keep in mind is many women fall naturally are continuing to live a normal life.

I conceived last month went about my daily as normal ( except for drinking alcohol) sadly I lost it but that wasn't due to anything other than the baby not being right - I did ease up once we found out I was pregnant- hubby wouldn't let me so much!!! I thought I'd put my story out to demonstrate that doing housework didn't prevent conception to give you hope. I fell naturally and I don't know if I'd worried more if I'd just done a round of IVF.

If you are likely to blame yourself if you do something and say the treatment doesn't work ( of course I am not suggesting it won't) then don't do it. You don't want regrets.

You must do what you feel is right.

Good luck with your 2ww I hope it doesn't drag too much and you get a lovely positive test xoxo

My friend's doc told

- complete bedrest after transfer until the next morning, then "couch potato" for two more days after that

- no heavy lifting (groceries, children)

- no vacuuming

- basically no activities that would strain your abdominal muscles

- no sex until after first OB u/s

- no immersion in water (no swimming and no baths, showers OK)

But mine just said light rest for the day of and then back to normal activity. Of course no heavy stuff and things like that.

Thanks ladies,

My nurse just said no strenuous activities and i don't think pushing a hoover round would be that strenuous but I've stopped now and used a room stick instead lol. I think I'm with Jess on this one tho lots of women fall pregnant and not know about it , my sister lift weights and when she found out she was pregnant she was already well into her pregnancy and she was at the gym every day. I won't do anything to strenuous tho, my dog does need walking everyday tho and I do need to do that so will just do that for now on and some light housework xx

As Jess has said people fall every day and continue there lives. I have a 2 year old and this time I carried on as normal picking him up carrying him and I even moved house. I'm now 9 weeks pregnant! How I saw it was many friends are pregnant with no 2 and carried on as Normal and if lifting a hover stopped that I think the human race would have died out by now xx

I was told no strenuous activities. I asked about doing Pilates and was told no because it specifically works the abdominals but was told walking was good. I chose to take the 2 weeks off work as my job can be stressful at times and I didn't want to risk it. So I went to Chester for a few days and did loads of walking round the zoo instead! A much more enjoyable way to pass the time than work!
