Hi guys just looking at final payments for my ivf and wondered where people think embryoscope is worth doing and adding to my package? It costs £600 on top of ivf which I will pay if it's worth adding so some advice would be appreciated xx
Embryoscope yes or no??: Hi guys just... - Fertility Network UK
Embryoscope yes or no??
we went for it as decided just to throw everything at it...tbh I am not sure it makes a whole lot of difference tho xx
I don't believe it makes any difference, my clinic have said the same and so did the panorama documentary. However as we are with access fertility we get it included for free and it is AMAZING to have to be able to see the very first moments of your baby in time lapse video.
Can I just double check is this included with access fertility? We are going to use it but didn't think it was included x
We went for it on our first attempt on IVF and we got a positive result xx
I had this option as I had embryo transfer today. I asked the benefit and was told it took photos the the embryos and it didn’t help our chances in away way. So we just decided to have the glue. X
Hi this is r 3rd cycle we went for the embryoscope had transfer yesterday, the embryologist told us that he was going to transfer an embryo as it looked perfect but wen he looked bk through the time lapse he sed it went abnormal on day 2 so in away he saved us a failed cycle if that one wud of been put bk !!!so far I'm glad I took it we got a wee video of our 2 embryos that was put in keep watching it it' amaxing good luck for whtever u decide ❤ xx
Where did you decide on? We have our 1st appt with GCRM at the end of the month x
We had it and got bfp first round. The time lapse video is pretty special to keep. Our clinic statistics showed a very slight increase in live birth rates using the scope. I liked the idea that they could best select the best quality embryo; although be aware it can also lead to more being ruled out (although better that than going through a failed cycle). Best of luck! X
We didn’t use it on our first round and got two blasts both of which were put back . None to freeze . Ended in a bfn . I was going to have the scratch on the second round but the doctor said if I was to pay any money go for the embryoscope . We did do . Paid £700 . Got 3 to blast stage one put back and two in the freezer . I’m currently 17 weeks pregnant . I can only think this made the difference? Obviously every round is different but this is the only different thing we did . I would definitely go for it x x
We were told that some doctors think there’s a slight increase in chances due to them being able to watch them without taking them out of the incubator... but no scientific evidence yet.
Like others, we got this included in our package from access fertility- we have received it on usb and it is pretty special.
Xx
Go for embryoscope! Less interference in environment for your developing embryos. We had it first time around and the Embryologist got a lot of information about the growth/activity of our fertilising eggs... it slightly altered our upcoming second round (currently on stimulating drugs!) in terms of stimulating drugs. We’re opting for it again too.
Good luck in your journey! X
I had the embryoscope & glue and got a BFP. We were told that it was most useful for ladies who have several follicles / eggs collected as it can help them choose the best from a bunch. We had 7 fertilise and then 5 made it past day 3 but only 3 were good enough to use and embryoscope helped to pick out the very best one, and it worked. The time lapse video is amazing! Good luck!! 🤞🍀
We used it (paid £700 as an extra). I’ll never know for sure whether it made a difference as we were lucky enough to get a positive on our first cycle so nothing to compare to.
We did ask the embryologist afterwards if they felt it had helped and they said yes, because we got a lot of eggs to choose from (26 of which about 17 fertilised) so it helped them pick the best. There was at least one that still looked great by day 5 but when they used the embryoscope images, it had divided abnormally before that which they wouldn’t have known without embryoscope.
I guess in those people who have fewer to choose from (which is perfectly normal) it might be a lot easier to find the obvious leader anyway so it might not be as useful. Good luck for your cycle, whether you choose to have it or not xx
