Oestrogen: vaginal vs patches

For my first FET my clinic prescribed vaginal oestrogen (Progynova) which I found very uncomfortable with regular chalky discharge (apologies if too much detail) and excessive dryness.

When this transfer failed I asked my clinic if there were any alternatives available and they advised I can use oestrogen patches instead for my next transfer.

Would be very grateful for anyone's experiences (if any) on switching from vaginal oestrogen to patches. Suppose my main concern is are they equally effective for FET.

Baby dust to you all xx
