Oestrogen Patches & Lubion Injections for FET

Next frozen cycle I’m going to be using Oestrogen patches & adding Lubion injections from day of transfer. I was just wondering how others have managed doing the 2 together as I’ve been advised to use the patches on my stomach below the belly button (the patches are pretty big) but also advised to inject the Lubion in the lower stomach too. I’m just a bit concerned about sticking patches over recently injected areas or injecting an area where I’ve just removed a patch. Did anyone use the patches in a different area? My clinic have said 2nd choice is upper thighs but this isn’t mentioned on the patient information leaflet in the box so I’m unsure.

Hi, I’ve used the patches at the same time as injecting and it was totally fine. I put my patches on my upper thigh, as advised by my clinic. However, if it was on my stomach it would have been OK. I had to change the patches every 3 days and there is plenty of space. I also don’t remember the area being sore or painful when I removed a patch. Try not to worry too much! Wishing you lots of luck! xx

Thank you so much for your reply! I’ve used the patches before but only on my stomach where they seemed to work well so guess I’m just cautious of moving to my thighs. I struggled with my lining last cycle but they’d started me on 3 tablets a day & no patches. On day 11 I was only at 6.2mm but then added the patches & in 3 days time got to 7mm. Starting with tablets & patches from the get go this time. Do you think the patches helped with your lining using on the thighs? Xx

Hey, unfortunately they have discovered I’m resistant to artificial estrogen so my lining never thickened enough on medication but I really don’t that had anything to do with where the patches were. If you don’t want to move the patches could you ask about injecting the lubion into your thighs? I know I can inject my Clexane there. Wishing you lots of luck xx

Hi Bluebellbunny. Any large enough area will do, thighs, tummy, even back if really stuck. Good luck! Diane
