Hi,

Out of interest, how old were you when you first had a successful cycle that resulted in live birth?

3rd icsi round and I was 35. She arrived 5 days before my 36th birthday x

I’d just turned 37 when I had the stimulation cycle (a freeze all) and got pregnant 3 transfers later with an embryo from that batch. I was 38 by then. x

36 when did the IVF, healthy boy born shortly after 37th bday

I was 39 when I started my first round of IVF with ICSI. My daughter was the result of my second FET from that cycle and arrived when I was 40. I used my own eggs. Hope that helps.

Can I ask what does ICSI mean?

I’ve figured out FET means frozen embryo transfer?

I can not find what all these abbreviations mean? 🤨😕

I was on gonal f and bursulin and we did ivf rather than ICSI as the main issue was with my tubes and a partial blockage. I also took high quality coenzyme q10 supplements in the lead up to egg collection and I really think that might have helped with egg quality; plus paid privately for some fertility reflexology sessions. Our ivf was all done on the NHS so probably a more basic protocol than what some of the private clinics might offer and lots of time waiting for appointments etc but I hope it gives hope to others x
