After 1st failed round in oct and picking ourselves up we've decided to have another go ! Last cycle collected 3 mature eggs of which only 1 fertilised . We did a 3 day transfer of a perfect 8 cell embryo but sadly bfn 😥 I'm in Day 3 of merional today and I'm booked for a scan next Wednesday! I'll be happy if we get the same number of eggs again as I'm 43 and don't expect to get lots of eggs at my age. My only fear is we may not get any this time !! Trying to keep positive but I'm aware I'm no spring chicken so trying to dig deep for some hope! This time I've been having reflexology to try and keep relaxed too
If this cycle fails we're looking at one final last go in Cyprus with donor eggs this year as our 3rd and final attemp at our dream of a family of our own . Wish us luck ☘️
We’re in a similar situation, just thinking about starting a 4th fresh cycle in the next few months. I’m 41 this year and have low amh and high fsh so I don’t produce many eggs even with high meds. We’ll definitely consider other options after this go. Good luck with this cycle. Are you doing long or short protocol? I’ve only ever done short so hoping to try something different next time. xx
Hi jules, I took norethisterone last time before starting high dose menopur, with producing few eggs they've skipped norethisterone this time and started stimulating in 3rd day of my natural cycle as stopping my cycle then kick starting it again is to get lots eggs apparently and seeing as I produced only 3 last time anyway they won't switch my ovaries on and off in the hope the eggs will be better quality!!! So watch this space. Lsst time we got one perfect embryo out of three. My hope is maybe if we get 3 eggs again that the 3 will be good on this short protocol natural period start 😊. Thanks
Very best of luck to you for your cycle, hoping it all goes well. Keep thinking those positive thoughts and hopefully lovely positive things will come your way xo
Sending big hugs and positive vibes your way. I’m 42 and about to start cycle 1...feeling a bit apprehensive but all we do is use everything in our power to make it happen. Xx
Hi, I am in a similar situation as you. Am 42 with a fresh and a frozen attempt done( 2015-2016), both didn’t work. It taken me so long to get over my losses
Have just finished a short protocol and am currently awaiting a phone call from clinic for a date for our transfer. Hoping for blastocysts on Monday.
I wish you all the best of luck. You are not alone in this crazy, daunting IVF world. Personally I had 4 attempt and one miscarriage. I am 42 and going for egg donor... don’t give up your dream. Take care x
Hi Lollypop I just wanted to wish you luck with your next cycle. We are on our first cycle at 43 having had 4mcs after natural pregnancies. We had ICSI to help with male issues. 3 eggs retrieved and we are hoping the final one lasts to day 5 for transfer. I've taken all the vits I can, ubiquinol, dhea, acupuncture etc so feel I've thrown everything at it so if this doesn't work I think we will give up on our old eggs / sperm and maybe try donor. It's a really hard decision though. I heard that there is a clinic in Cyprus that will do tandem OE / DE cycles which I need to look into further. Looking forward to hearing how you get on.
I wish you all the luck in the world . Yes the decision to use donor eggs isn't easy but at my age I will have few goes with my own eggs but hsving an 80 % of success with donor eggs is a really good chance of becoming a mum if we need to go down that route! Laws are different in Cyprus and the guy who runs the clinic there used to be at the hewitt centre in Liverpool so you can have part treatment here then fly over for 5 days for transfer etc. I'm giving this cycle my all and like they say it only takes 1 good egg so fingers crossed 🤞 ps it's low sperm count that brought us down this route as I'm fine apart from my age! Well it is what it is so we're gonna go for it this year and try every avenue x good luck carrolino4 xxx
I'm in similar situation, I'm 42 turning 43 in November, the cut off age in our state hospital is 42, our 1st cycle failed in November, we lost our daughter in June 2016 when she was only six month old, and there was no known cause of death, and we are going for the 2nd one in March, I'm hoping for the best, however I'm taking supplements to improve egg quality, eg coenzyme q10 and alphalepoic acid, I wish u all the best, this is not an easy journey a d my husband has lost interest, I'm just worried he might change his mind abt this 2nd cycle,as he is not talking about nor respond when I bring up the topic...so hard anf emotionally draining process
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss it's heartbreaking , ivf is so emotional and you invest your heart into it. I wish you lots of luck . We've funded 1st and now our 2nd cycle as we just missed out on funding! That's why we can only afford 3 goes in total so I'm relaxed about this cycle as we can afford one last go if need be, but thy will be abroad for better odds. That's taking the pressure of us. Your husband will be struggling just as much as you are . My husband took our first fail really bad but we had to keep it together as time isn't on our side to take a break! Hoping you both keep strong and support each other 😘 All the best in March xx
Thanks lady MM , trying to be positive and tell myself there's hope even at my age with my own eggs! Miracles can happen. My nan had her 10th child at age 48 so hoping I've inherited her eggs 🙏 X
Hey there. How are you doing? I hope its all great. I am really sorry for what you 're going through. I know it's not easy. You are very strong, however. I wish you good luck. Take care.
