Hi, I’ve read loads of posts on here but still not entirely sure and don’t have a call with my fertility nurses for a few days.
I’m due to start meds on 20th March for my first IVF cycle, but having really bad period pains as per usual...not sure if I can have a hot bath or hot water if of this is bad as egg collection will be in a couple months hopefully?
Any advice welcome...anxious and excited

When I was on stims last cycle my clinic said hot water bottles, baths, pain relief medicines except ibuprofen all okay to use. Once you reach transfer that changes for baths and hot water bottle directly on your uterus area of pelvis but for now, all good 🙂
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply! I have a blocked tube too but they don’t know what’s causing it, they said I could try have surgery for it or just go to IVF, and due to the pandemic I decided to just stay on waiting list for ICSI! I wish u well in the next stage of your journey!
My consultant said hot water bottle & bath fine even after transfer. My advice is DEFFO take your hot water bottle full before having egg collection. I was in a lot of pain after collection & know a hot water bottle would have helped (nurse said they’re not allowed to fill them though- health & safety? (I’m a midwife in the same hospital, seems bizarre I can fill a hot water bottle for a labouring woman but she couldn’t for me??!) anyway- take yours full just in case! X
