Lentogest progesterone injection - so painful and how long the injections will last in FET?

Dear ladies, I know some of you are taking Lentogest progesterone injection during FET. I just started my first injection last night during my ERA cycle. I only need to take 3 times BUT it is so painful!!!!!! I couldn’t imagine how can I survive during FET? I want to know whether it is possible to choose other progesterone and if the clinic said this is a must, how long will it take? Would like to prepare psychologically. I am shocked by how painful it is and the pain lasts long time - the whole evening. Do you feel the same or just me? Thanks.

I haven’t used Lentogest as my clinic use the combination of Lubion injections and Cyclogest Pessaries during FET. I do find the Lubion injections tend to ache for hours after though. It’s not fun at all, I just hope the pain will be worth it eventually! Best of luck x

How are you doing the injections? I'm on Lentogest injections for my FET. First one my partner did was a bit painful and aching a long time after but I think it got better after a bit of practice! When I had them done at clinic, they've been ok. I think going very slowly with the injection is meant to make it better.

Thanks for the information. My husband did the first injection...... I will ask him to go slowly the injection for the second and third one.

He shouldn't go slow - it should be done "like a dart" for less pain. Tell him to watch the YouTube videos.

Thanks. He has to do the second injection tonight, I will ask him to take the YouTube tutorial first. Hope it will be better tonight.

I think your partner might be doing it wrong - yes, it is painful a bit afterwards, but you shouldn't be in pain all day.

Use an ice pack beforehand, do not pinch the skin and. - very important - do not inject into to butt cheek (which is fat at the top)...it needs to be in the muscle in the upper quadrant x

Updates! My hubby did the second and third injections these days. It went well now. The problem is the position was not good, I think he puts upper part but a bit inside. I asked him to watch the YouTube video for the position then it was ok now. Thanks for your suggestion. It is not painful at all now. 😊
