Prontogest Injections

Hi I just wanted to check if Prontogest Injections can be given in the thigs? I will be admistering these myself and Im not sure how I will manage to do this in the buttocks area! Any tips/ advice will greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey! Yes they can, but you need to make sure there’s enough tissue to inject too...it’s not that easier as it looks and could be even more painful than the buttock.If you search on YouTube there’s plenty of tutorials on how to self administer Prontogest....and also online you can find medical devices called ‘self medicating pens’ that are specifically designed to self administer medication....good luck 🤞🏻🍀❤️

Hey there. The manufacturer advises the buttocks because it’s the best combo for fat and muscle. As they do not actually mention the thigh in their advice of where to inject, this is why clinics don’t advise it either, at least not as the first port of call. I’m sure you could do it there once in a while if you had to but I have a feeling it will be more painful too. I have done my own injections in the bum and you just need a well placed mirror and a bit of confidence. Honestly it’s not nearly as bad as it sounds. X

Look up ‘nurse Linda’ on YouTube - she’s great. I always did mine above the buttocks and it was much more bearable than I anticipated. You could use a mirror to help? You should be able to use your thigh too. Ask your clinic for a tutorial. Good luck!
