Prontogest vs lubion

hi ladies I’m not sure if anyone can help me in such quick timing as I need to make a decision asap. But my progesterone is low ahead of my transfer today. I can have prontogest free on the nhs but have to pay £140 a week for lunion, which I’m happy to do. But I just wondered if anyone had any experience with one or the other? I’ve had both previously but the last time I had prontogest it was at 41 before transfer and they wanted it at 45, this time it’s at 28. So quite a lot lower. And I have had lubion on the past but no idea what my levels were like as they never used to test them them. Even when asking. This is my last embryo, the only euploid one I have and I really want everything to be right. It’s already stressing me out it’s low to begin with. Don’t know why they didn’t just introduce the extra yesterday. Nightmare!

thanks in advance for any speedy replies 🫶

Hi lovely I had Lubion injection on my last cycle it’s the only one that stops me bleeding before test day . I know it cost a bit extra but it’s worth it good luck with everything lovely xxx

Thanks so much for getting back me. I went with the lubion in the end anyway. Just thought it’s nothing in the grand scheme of things if it helps more. And better than doing the injection through the muscle! Xxx

prontogest is a lot stronger and more of a given with progesterone levels as it goes straight in the muscle. Lubion is a lot easier to administer and less painful, but yes way more expensive and less effective.

Lubion didn’t raise it enough for me the first time I did it. But if you take well to Lubion then it’s fine. As long as you’re taking it alongside the cyclogest pessaries - ideally 3-4 a day.

Keeping everything crossed for you!

Oh god don’t tell me that now I’ve made my decision and I’ve had just the lubion 🤣 I’m already riddled with anxiety haha. Thank you

Oh god I’m so sorry I stupidly didn’t read the other comments before posting!! Honestly Lubion is great and works for most people, when mine didn’t work i hadn’t absorbed the Lubion well but I don’t think it was why it failed at all! Also my progesterone levels were much lower than yours! Everyone else I know who took Lubion it worked well. My clinic were amazed that it hadn’t worked for me. Prontogest is not needed for most people!

So please don’t worry! You’ve got this! Keeping everything crossed xxx

hello! I am a Prontogest girl. Have always used it. It’s a tad more expensive and painful/uncomfortable but I prefer it. Currently 32 weeks pregnant- used it until 13 week of pregnancy as I was afraid to come off it so doctor phased it out gradually. Hope that helps
