Hi ladies was just wondering what covid measures you clinic has in place during embryo transfer with the nurse being within a metre from you to do the transfer to minimise transmission? Any clinics using screens etc x ?
Embryo transfer : Hi ladies was just... - Fertility Network UK
Embryo transfer
Check temperatures as we enter and masks at ours - the nurse needs to scan you while they do the transfer so kind of impossible to be a metre away or behind a screen x
Same as pingu, temperatures checked and masks worn. Plus lots of hand sanitising! As it’s a medical procedure you can’t avoid close contact. Good luck.
Temp was checked on arrival. I wore my mask the entire time whilst getting ready and signing papers etc, even when walking into the Theatre. They then just unhooked it from one side and swapped it for the oxygen. I woke up in recovery with my mask still hooked over one ear so they just asked me to put it back on before they wheeled me back to my room. I was impressed with this, other than 10 seconds putting my oxygen mask on, I’d say they probably avoided getting too close to the top of the bed.
Temp checks, masks, partner not allowed
I had to show covid test result about 2 weeks before the transfer.
My clinic only allowed me to visit during my transfer not my husband. Clinics are super clean anyway but they will take extra precautions due to covid.
During the transfer, we all wore masks but we were still in close contact as they need to effectively carry out the procedure.
Wishing you all the best!
I was only allowed to attend without my husband, had to wear a mask and wash my hands on arrival. Transfer done by a nurse and they did not use assisted scanning either like I’ve had before x
Yes i didn't have assisted scanning when i had my son in 2018 either, but with your clinic with not doing it this time, is that due to covid? hoping to do a FET in March. Good luck hope you get your positive x
My clinic takes temps upon entry, masks mandatory of course , partners allowed to attend for EC and ET. Nurses/docs/embryologists obv in close contact for short time during procedure, including using scanner on my tummy to assist transfer. NHS so assuming all tested regularly and vaccinated xx
My clinic also does a covid swab when they set the date date for transfer and advises to isolate until procedure. A lot of healthcare workers particularly in elective areas are doing twice weekly lateral flow testing as well to help maintain patient safety.
