Upping prognova again- lining even thinner than before! FET

I went for my scan today - Day 14 and after the last cycle getting cancelled I was really nervous. The only change they made from the last protocol (3x2mg prognova) was adding in a patch.

So following everyone's advice I have been taking raspberry leaf supplements, raspberry leaf tea, vitamin E, brazil nuts, pomegranate juice (yuk - I used to like it!) Acupuncture, Light exercise etc. I've been feeling really healthy and went for the scan today and it was WORSE than when it was previously cancelled in November. My lining is only 5.69mm. I was gutted 😢

But my clinic said they should take into consideration that I am petite and may not get to the 8mm, but that they would have check the proportion of the lining to the womb. This is the same nurse who cancelled my cycle last time at 6.5mm

But the lining was looking very healthy so they have whopped up my dosage. I know need to take 3 x4mg prognova and 2mg vaginally twice a day plus the patch.

Back for a scan on Thursday which will be day 17 of my cycle.

I'm really nervous and worried, and also wish they'd upped it earlier. Just feels a bit late to me

Has anyone had a quick increase in lining - and any success stories with FET and a thin lining?

Hi HemBella, I know how frustrating it is, I’ve been there too 😞. Has your consultant mentioned to you the natural frozen transfer? I don’t have experience with it but my consultant suggested me for next time cause on my last transfer my lining took too long to thickening, it seems I was not responding well to drugs, or maybe my body is just tired.

For now just carry on with the things you’ve been doing. Finger crossed for you 😘

Hi Metina. Thank you, a natural FET isn't something that has been mentioned by my clinic but I have read about it here and it's something I will raise for next time if this doesn't work.

This whole process is tiring on our bodies isn't it?!

Good luck to you too 💕

Hi HemBella,Sending a message of solidarity - I’m in the exact same boat with a decision also due on Thursday. My lining was stuck at 5mm a few days ago so I’m not hugely optimistic but following advice on here have moved the patches to my bum for better absorption, started drinking pomegranate juice every day, upped the acupuncture and going for a longer walk each day to get the blood flowing... will see if it’s made a difference on Thursday. If my FET is cancelled I think my clinic want to try a natural cycle, so I may also introduce vitamin E, l’arginine and relook at my diet again.

Good luck on Thursday, keeping fingers crossed for you x

Thank you Orla. It's so frustrating isn't it! And I thought this would be the easy part. After I read your post the first thing I did was move my patch to my bum 😂

I've also had more acupuncture including one where she focussed on my lower back which apparently has the blood vessels that feed the womb. It was very uncomfortable but I'll do anything at this stage!!

Good luck for your news tomorrow, do let me know how you get on 🤞🤞

HiMy cycle was cancelled back in Nov too.

I was taken advised from everyone dring raspberry left tea, pomegranate juice and vitamin E and was doing exercise from YouTube for 30 mins since day one of my period. Had first scan on last Monday which was 6.4 (similar to cancelled cycle) but the nurse said it was looking good. I was surprised why she said it's good when lining was the same as last time. She then ask me to come back for 2nd scan on following Thursday. I was carry on drinking and taken vitamin E but changed from excercise to light home cycling for 30 mins to 40 mins. I was shocked that my lining increased to 8.4 mm. Not sure why. Your lining may be increase too as your clinic said looking healthy. Best of luck xx

That's amazing Goyjung! Thank you for giving me hope that tomorrow might bring better results. Have you had your transfer now? Good luck 🙏🏻

I didn't believe the nurse at first when she said I will be fine but can't argue now. Your clinic said you have a healthy lining so there is still a chance. I am due to transfer this afternoon. Just hope I dont receive a phone call from clinic this morning. As won't be a good news if they rang.

Best of luck xx

It’s so tough and it sounds like you’re doing all you can do. I had 3 FETs cancelled due to a thin lining. In the end I did a natural FET which I didn’t hold out much hope for as I think we all get very dependent on drugs with IVF. But it was my best cycle yet and I got to 7mm (clinic wanted it between 7&8mm), started progesterone on the day of transfer and now 22 weeks pregnant. It’s definitely worth asking about if this cycle is cancelled. Many clinics don’t like it as it’s harder to schedule but it’s definitely worth asking about. Wishing you lots of luck xx

PS. Should add that I discovered some people are resistant to artificial oestrogen which I think was my issue. I tried Tamoxifen which is meant to help but it was my worst cycle ever xx

Thank you Libsie. I've followed your posts which have been very helpful. I have a feeling I may be resistant to artificial oestrogen too. Way back when I started this journey I had 3 iuis which were natural (apart from trigger shot). My lining was never huge but it did what it needed to do naturally.

We'll see what this last push on oestrogen does and if it doesn't work then I'm going to ask about natural. Congratulations on your wonderful news xx

Hi HemBella, I had 2 cycles cancelled because of the same issue. However, on my 3rd cycle I was only at 6.3mm but had a great triliminar pattern so we decided to go for it anyway. I did have some growth after starting the 5 days of progesterone pre-transfer, but my clinic said that the most important thing was that the endometrium looked healthy and was triliminar, and that maybe my body just wasn't ever going to get to 7 or 8mm as I wasn't engineered that way. I'm now 6 weeks pregnant. Wishing you all the best! You just never know...

Thank you Murielsmom. That's really encouraging. My triliminar pattern did look great on Monday, even I could see it as small as it was.

Hoping by tomorrow it will have increased enough but my clinical team needs to be realistic about what I can achieve.

Congratulations on your pregnancy 💕
