IVF newbie! I was given Menopur today 600iu and 1200iu, everything was fine until I got home! I panicked do I take the both together or start with 1200 first? I thought the nurse had told me everything but clearly she didn't (I wish I asked). I keep ringing the nurse line and no one is answering and I even went back to the hospital but no one could see me. I'm asking for advice please! I'm getting worried ad my injections start today!

The nurse should have mentioned to you what dose you will be on daily but maybe you have missed that bit. Do you have any papers from the clinic? It must be mentioned there what dose you should take. Good luck 🤞♥️

I definitely wouldn't take a full 1200iu dose. That'd be way too high. The highest dose I've heard of anyone being on was 450iu. x

You are right 1200iu is a very high dose but I am not sure how you will mix powder and solvent and extract only 450iu once you are mixing them. I had Menopur 75iu and I was mixing 2 powders with one water.

Once you've mixed the powder and the liquid vials then you just draw up your dose from that mixture. The side of the menopur syringe has the units on so I drew up where it said 300iu from the mixture and injected that. Then you can just leave the mixed solution for the next injection. Once mixed together it doesn't need to be stored in a fridge either. x

For me Menopur was always 450iu

Have you got your protocol telling you the exact amount of menopur that you should be taking daily? I was on 300iu so I mixed a 1200 box up and used it for 4 days of injections, then mixed another box and used that. I got 2 days injections from the 600iu box and 4 days from the 1200iu box. x

Yes same as this. Nurse said to mix the larger box first. Leave the smaller one and then when you need it, mix that one up too. Hopefully you got through to the clinic for your peace of mind! Don't worry though we get sooo much info it's impossible to remember it all! Write it all out and tick it off as you go!!! I did that for all the supplements etc too which helped!! X

Although mine was 150 a day so this lasted me longer!

The 600 and 1200iu is how much is in each bottle. You should have been told how much to draw... you certainly don’t take the full amount! Xx
