Hi Ladies, I've only just joined and already loving the positive stories i've read. I'm 44 and about to start my IVF journey. I'm due on this week and on day 2 i'll be having my baseline scan to hopefully give the go-ahead to start my meds. Any hints or tips you're able to share are welcomed. Equally, if I can be of assistance, please let me know...

Hey best of luck with your treatment!

I am 41 and had IVF 4 years ago so a bit rusty with the process.

There are some experts on here and lots of support and kindness!

It certainly seems that way, excited to get started!

Fingers firmly crossed for a smooth journey - IVF already changed our lives!! It is a rollercoaster though!

Hi Quick_Mouse :-)I think my main piece of advice is to just focus on one step at a time. Try not to worry or think too far ahead. There are so many stages and each one brings different tasks / feelings / thoughts. Concentrating on one at a time helped me to not feel overwhelmed.

Also, try not to obsess about numbers (e.g. number of eggs collected). Everyone's journey is so different and you can only work with what you're dealt.

Wishing you lots of luck with your journey! x

Thank you so much, i'm definitely the type to focus on numbers, so i'll keep your advice in mind!

Hi I just wanted to wish you luck. I’m 44 and pregnant 32 weeks now with my first ivf (43 at the time) we done ICSI, we only got one egg, I refused to do high dose stims and done the lowest possible (long shot I know) but we have a very strong history of oestrogen cancers in my family. But in saying that it worked, I know I’m extremely lucky as was given 2-3% chance this would work with 1 egg. I just lost my mum before this so I think she might have helped 💕Best of luck 🤞

This is fantastic, congratulations 🎊 I agree, I'm sure your Mum had a hand to play in this x

Hi, I’m new on here too and also about to start my IVF journey in a few weeks. I’m 39, will be 40 later this year. It all feels quite daunting but I’m finding this forum really helpful hearing other peoples experiences. Wishing you all the best 🤞🏻😀
