So, our medication arrived today and I feel totally overwhelmed by the sheer number of boxes and needles that I have no clue about. I know I have to start with the Suprecur, but I have no idea about the rest. I'm the kind of person who writes lists for everything and gets stressed when they don't have a solid plan, so not knowing what to expect or exactly what to do is really panicking me (and we haven't even started yet!!).
Did anyone else feel like this? X

They've said what to do to start with and given me an outline of what else happens, but I don't know exactly when I will need to other meds and what each one is for etc. I might give them a call and ask. Thanks x
I felt exactly like this!! My consultant & hubby both laughed when I whipped out my notebook & questions during appointments. I love a list & if I don't write something down - it goes straight out my head 🙈
The nurses will talk you through everything step by step and there are some great videos to watch incase you need a reminder. Once you've done the first one you will be fine and soon be a pro 😉
I was the same my first cycle. The nurses should give you a plan of what to do what day. I made myself daily spreadsheets so i could tick off what I’ve done and I feel more organised! X
I just went through my first cycle and had the same feeling. You do get a big box of meds. After a few days you'll get your head around it and then it will be no big deal. Hang in there.
I am from Romania and here we buy the meds from specific pharmacies after doctor’s prescription.
My clinic (or at least my doctor) did not prescribe all meds from the start. I had 4 scans and after each one she would prescribe some meds (with a bit of planning ahead), so I also had to go to the pharmacy 4 times. The reason is that they check the evolution and can adjust the treatment period, dosage or certain meds as needed. They generally do not know 100% all necessary meds and dosages from the start and if they would give you a full schedule, that might suffer changes and could become confusing. Also, you may risk to buy too much meds (and they are not cheap) - happened to a friend.
I did a daily list of injections (step by step as I received the instructions), marking also the place on my belly, to alternate as necessary.
I’d say give your clinic a call and ask for help. Mine does a teaching appointment to show me how to mix the meds and inject and give me a timetable with dates. I’m sure they will help you out, it’s all so overwhelming xx
Thanks all! I phoned today and got some more info so feeling a bit more clued up now. I just want to get started now and hopefully then I'll stop worrying about what to expect quite so much and can just try to get on with it. Xxx
