Hi all, I’m taking pregnacare, coq10 and fish oil- is there any supplements I should change or be taking ahead of our FET next month?

Thanks Diane! It’s so difficult to decide which ones to take in the uk or if it’s right for FET vs fresh so want to be sure x

I also take extra vitamin D, we need it in the UK on top of pregnacare. They don't put enough in pregnacare, during winter months it is recommended to have around 2000 IU. I tested mine and have decided to have 4000IU. It takes three months for levels to increase so worth getting tested and adding a little now as it won't do you any harm to take an extra 1000IU on top of the pregnacare x

I followed the guide from It Starts with the Egg. There’s quite a lot in there but I did all of it and had the best lining ever (I had 5 FETs in total). I started from the day of taking estradiol. Don’t think you need COQ10 now. itstartswiththeegg.com/faq/...

I have the book but only heard of it after our fresh transfer and egg collection. I’m confused about which ones to take for just a frozen transfer tbh xx

In that link it says exactly which ones and how long for. You can also add acupuncture, I did it for 6 months in total twice a week with Chinese herbs. In saying that, plenty of women don’t take any supplements before FET and have BFPs so don’t put too much pressure on yourself.

Unlike a lot of people, i thought it starts with an egg was a load of nonsense. Two different consultants told me not to take too many supplements as too many can be too much. I was advised not to waste money. I took Pregnacare and an extra vitamin D because I'm in Scotland (often grey) and indoors more with it being lockdown.Good luck. 😊

Yeah i felt the same. I think how much you follow the book depends on how complex your infertility is. I know we all want to try literally ANYTHING to make it work so no judgement from me.

It's cliche but trying to de stress as much as possible I think helps and loads of water (I'm terrible at staying hydrated).

An NHS consultant recommended Acupuncture to me. I did about 4 or 5 sessions during stims and EC. Planned to return in the lead up to my FET but it came sooner than planned. And no longer needed after a successful transfer. 🤰 Xx
