Post IVF skin breakout

Hi all. It’s a while since I have been on here. Needed a little break after my failed round of mild IVF. I am gearing up to do another round in a couple of months. In the meantime has any else experienced skin breakouts after a round of IVF. Since my round in oct/Nov I have had terrible breakouts - the skin on my face and neck is congested and breaking out in spots. I know it sounds a bit silly but it’s really bothering me. Like I can deal with shit that is hidden but when it’s literally all over my face it just tips me over the edge!

Skin is very very dry, rough to touch, even if I put a cream..kind of reddish...is this maybe due to hormones?😕 dont know...

Aw I am sorry to hear this. I am experiencing similar. Maybe it is the hormones? My face had also become rough and bumpy. ☹️

Hey 👋 I also had really rough and bumpy skin during and after my frozen transfer. I don't know whether it was hormones. I have been using cleanser, toner and moisturiser day and night for a few weeks and it seems to have really helped. I'm usually a bit useless looking after my skin but have made a big effort since it went all bumpy and rough. I used Emma Hardie but there's loads of brands out there that will probably have the same effect for you hopefully Xxx

Hey, since starting IVF, my skin has resumed a similar state to puberty - although this time I have wrinkles!Luckily angry breakouts are mostly on cheeks & jawline ( forehead spared) which hasn’t been too bad since as when we go anywhere close enough for others to see, I am wearing a mask!Have splashed out Aurelia cleansing wash & oil which smells divine and certainly reduces redness.

I am braced for the hormone imbalances to take a few months to resolve after stopping ivf - or if I am lucky enough to get a bfp then hoping the ‘pregnancy glow’ would help to resolve.

No advice for you - but you’re not alone. Xx

Thank you. This does make me feel a bit better. I hate breakouts! Yes- fingers crossed they will be replaced by a pregnancy glow 😇. That would be wonderful. X

Hey TheFoxes I have had exactly the same problem and can completely relate it makes you feel so rubbish and its almost like your emotions and thoughts are on show by your skin being so bad, at times I’ve been grateful for my mask and being able to hide the outbreaks when out and about. A friend of mine who is a skin specialist recommended La Roche Posay cleanser and toner, it’s not to expensive and since using it I’ve noticed a massive improvement. I hope this helps you and good luck with the next round of IVF 💜
