Anyone had no response to down regulation meds (Buseralin)?

I am currently taking daily injections of Buseralin 0.5ml everyday since day 21 of my cycle to down regulate ready for my FET. I have gone in for a scan today to be told my body has not responded and there are loads of follicles on my ovaries. They have taken bloods today and will let me know about the possibility of having a trigger shot to release the eggs and then I can start the process of thickening my lining ready for the transfer. Has anyone else experienced this? I am really confused why they put me on this long protocol as my previous successful FET was a short one. Feeling a bit deflated now after 20 days of these injections for nothing! 🤷‍♀️ Thanks in advance and sending love to everyone going through this especially in these very weird times!

Yes, this happened to me twice! I started on cd21 had my period then my lining thickened again and I grew a follicle each time. The first time I stayed on buserelin an extra 2 weeks with no change, second time I had a trigger which released the egg and I grew another follicle! Both cycles were cancelled. I switched to short protocol for this reason! Sorry you find yourself in this position hope it sorts itself out! X

Thanks for your reply. My cycle was cancelled. Totally gutted...I had kind of prepared myself for a transfer not taking but not to have the cycle cancelled before I even got to that stage. Keep thinking they chose the wrong protocol for me and can’t understand why will definitely question it. I am now on mycrogynon to calm everything down. Not sure I am convinced but we will see. Thanks again x

I’m sorry to hear your cycle was cancelled. I learned something always happened that I didn’t expect, it’s so awful especially after all the waiting and planning. It always happened to me after a miscarriage, they could never explain why, I just refused to use buserelin ever again after my second cancelled cycle. I down regulated fine twice too. If it’s for a FET can you try a semi medicated cycle with just progynova? I insisted on it despite it not being the preferred protocol at my clinic and they allowed me to do that instead. Good luck!
