Had a bit of a break after my first two unsuccessful rounds, needed some space and time away from constantly thinking about this...we took some time to consult and breathe and I've been taking DHEA which my doc said I need to take for 2-3 months before another cycle so I'm doing that...
Will start my third round next cycle and doing ICSI this time...and I'm also considering egg donation if things go the same as the first two rounds. Trying to stay positive but each day 1 of my cycle still gets to me (like today!)
My younger sister lives in America (I'm in the UK) and she's offered to give me her eggs so we're working on that for the summer potentially and my husband and I will also look into donation in Spain if that doesn't work.
So this my last round in January before moving on to donation...🤞🤞
Anyone else starting a round just after the new year?
I'd also be interested if anyone else is looking at familial egg donation?? xx

I’m sorry to hear about your two unsuccessful rounds. Having a break sounds like a good plan. It’s important to look after yourself.
I have very low AMH and am in the tww of my first cycle. Two eggs collected, both fertilised and transferred on day two.
As eggs are my issue I have thought about familial donor too as a backup. I’m lucky to have a sister too who has also said that she would be a donor. She’s younger than me (I’m 32) and has had two pregnancies so I am hopeful about her eggs if needed. I have done a bit of reading and seen that donors have to have a certain level of AMH and undergo psychological testing etc. It would be heartbreaking for her to not pass the tests (sorry for worst case scenario thinking!).
I would be interested to hear any familial donor success stories and how the assessment process went.
i too am taking a break after two failed rounds (1 IVF and 1 IUI). my AMH is 2.56 and I'm 41. i am taking 3 months to pop all the vitamins etc suggested before i try again next year. I really hope you are pregnant x
Hiya yeh im in the same boat at you ...two failed attempts icsi make factor and my age. 39..hoping to go again February once partner re does comet and semen analysis. Been on dhea, cq10, omega 3,6 & 9, partners on impryl and omega 3. Been on them for a while now so like you hoping it works. Had considered donor eggs but the cost has put us off ' last one for us i think because of the cost. Wishing you loads of luck! Here is to 2021 and our little miracles ❤X
I’m totally with you on this one. Having some time out and head space can only be a good thing, even if it feels a bit counter intuitive at first. Hope you feel better for it and you have amazing results soon. I’ve heard good things about dhea.
I’m also starting in early Jan (2nd cycle and am 41) and have done the same in terms of building myself back up again, finding a private clinic, doing a bit of research, after a pretty crap 1st attempt in the summer. I’ve have been taking every supplement under the sun, including the dhea which I didn’t take last time). Fingers crossed it does the job for both of us!
