Just wondering out of interest if you had successful fertilisation and embryos as a result.

Hi lovely, yes we had the following:Cycle 1 with frozen sperm. Only 1 fertilised out of 10 eggs

Cycle 2 with frozen sperm. 5 fertilised out of 10 eggs, no blastocysts, 2 3 day embryos transferred BFN

Cycle 3 with fresh sperm. 9 fertilised out of 22 eggs. 3 blastocysts. 2 have resulted in bfps

Hello

We had a fresh Micro-Tese in tandem with IVF-ICSI in July. I am now (god willing!) nearly 20 weeks. So it’s possible! We have frozen sperm and may need to use that in the future but we used fresh for the first round.

Good luck xx

Thanks. I’m just a little concerned after reading other posts... we are due to start NHS funded ivf with ICSI. Just waiting for my blood test then cycle day 1 (hanging in the balance as been in isolation so not been able to go for blood test but that’s another story). We were told at our last appointment that if we didn’t get any embryos we wouldn’t be funded for the next round. Just worried reading other people’s experiences that we now won’t be successful 😞

Is it one go on the NHS? Sometimes they do unlimited frozen transfer Inc too if you do get frosties. We had SSR and used frozen sperm. Round 1 we got three blasts. So technically a success: however this resulted 1 BFN and 1MC. Round 2 only 1 fertilised but that is now my little boy. So using frozen sperm I did have success! No reason why you won't. Everyone is different.

However in my most recent post I queried about doing fresh SSR and egg collection together to hopefully try and increase our fertilisation. This is allowed because now we know he does have sperm because of the last retrieval. We wouldn't have been allowed to do it together first time incase there wasn't any. You could talk through your options with your clinic?

Currently in our TWW with ICIS following an SSR earlier this year. We got two grade A blastocysts so one on board and one in the freezer. I know some ladies on here have had success with doing it this way so it is possible ❤️ Xoxo

Hi SMMW, on my 1st cycle we used frozen sperm from PESA and out of 8 eggs, 6 fertilised and 1 made it to blastocyst. On the 2nd cycle we did fresh SSR on the day of the egg collection and despite having only 4 eggs collected, 3 made it to blastocysts, but I am not sure whether it is down to the sperm only as I was on a different protocol. Good luck XX
