As someone starting IVF soon, I would love to know if there is anything you credit to your IVF success. A lifestyle change, trusting your doctor, certain drugs/timings? Pure luck? xx Kristen

What made your IVF cycle successful?
I haven't had a successful cycle as such yet but my first cycle I fell pregnant and miscarried. My following 2 were unsuccessful and I'm currently in the 2ww. I haven't done anything different during each cycle apart from 1 I didn't have Acupunture and this cycle I took steroids. I personally think it's all down to luck, hopefully your first cycle is lucky for you 🤞 xx
Hi Kristen,
I have been lucky to have got pregnant each time. I do credit acupuncture, it's amazing and I believe truly helped! For me it's slightly different as I don't have any fertility issues (male factor). But I acted no different to anyone else doing ivf I gave 100% this was my only chance to have a baby. Followed the zita west book the guide to ivf, clean diet, I swear lots of full fat organic milk helped my eggs! My big diet tips no low fat or sugar free foods, lots of protein, helps with eggs during stims, no alcohol and limit caffeine. After transfer I did the eat the core of a pineapple for a few days. Through stims and after transfer I drank Pom juice for good lining and ate a few Brazil nuts each day. I had my son first try, miscarried on my second try and I'm 12+3 with no 2.
Good luck xx
That's amazing! I love acupuncture too Will definitely try the pineapple/Pom juice/Brazil nuts! Need to look into Zita West... xx
Thanks for asking this - I'm about to start next month and will be sure to read all the suggestions.
Not sure if it will help but I've been doing acupuncture, taking coq10, vit D, myo inositol, fish oil in addition to prenatal with folic acid, and meditation.
I generally eat low carb diet with healthy fats and protein so I'm happy to hear TeamMonkey's suggestions 😁
I hope to start next month too. We'll be in it together! x
CoQ10 is meant to be good to for improving egg quality, I took it this cycle. I guess what I should of said is yeah you can do all the things we've already mentioned, eat right and take the supplements etc but when it comes down to the embryo actually 'sticking' I believe that bit is down to luck. I've always gone through all my cycles thinking if I can look back and never think 'what if' then I've done my best. Lots of luck ladies 🍀
Abcgirl do you have pcos? If not I'd maybe consider stopping the myo inositol as in the book it starts with the egg, she discusses studies showing not good when doing treatment for those without that. I was taking but stopped for that reason. One other tip is salt after transfer, they say can improve stickiness of lining. Lots of a McDonald 😂 I was having a lot of salt as had ohss and got pregnant so who knows!! X
Agree with the advice already given - healthy diet, supplements, acupuncture - I also did hypnotherapy CDs which I found really helpful in turning off negative voices and trying to believe that it could happen - zita west and Helen McPherson IVF belief were invaluable! I agree about it being a bit of luck about the actual embryo sticking but getting your body and mind in the best shape possible at least gives you the perception of being in control even if we aren't! Am now 27 weeks pregnant after 5 years TTC and all sorts of issues along the way so something worked this time! Wishing you all the best with your cycle x
Thank you x
All really good advice, just wanted to add fluids to the list, drink plenty during stims, I also drank coconut water. Good luck!x
I am considering acupuncture and PGS NGS to increase chances
