We are about to get ready for our 2nd ivf cycle and hoping to have enough embryos for PGTA testing this cycle. Have any over 40s had this done and what is the likelihood of having a chromosomal normal embryo?
would be helpful to know of any additional supplements in success cases too
thanks all x

Hi Coffeeone - I did embryo banking at age 40, turned 41 during last cycle. Did 4 rounds of ICSI, as would only get on average about 4 eggs each time and 1-2 would fertilize. Our goal was 6 embryos to PGT-A test (this was the minimum you paid for at our clinic for testing so was most cost effective). Out of the 6, 3 were euploid so 50%. Both we and our clinic were quite pleased with this. First FET with euploid was a BFN but hoping for luck this second time around later this month 🤞🏻 Good luck to you!
Hi, I was 39 when I had three egg collection cycles. Over the 3 cycles they collected 15 eggs, I had them all PGT-A tested and 6 came back normal. I was taking vitamin D, folic acid and folate (as I have a gene mutation which means I need extra folate). Xx
Hi lovely, we did pgta testing on our second ivf cycle after much heartbreak. I'm glad we did as I had turned 40 and 6 out of the 12 embryos that were biopsied were euploid. From the 6 that were abnormal some had the same chromosomal issue which led to a karotyping blood test and confirmed a balanced translocation in me, so very likely the reason I had miscarriages and failed implantation. From our euploid embryos it's not possible to tell which have the same balanced translocation as me or which are completely normal but all these embryos are considered fine to transfer as balanced translocations don't always cause health issues.
