Hey, I had all three. I had a hysteroscopy which was basically just a camera to have a good look at womb lining, fibroids etc. I also had the blood tests you mention (thrombophilia is a combination of 7 different tests).
I came back positive to 3 of the 7 thrombophilia tests and consequently am on blood thinners from day of transfer. Unfortunately I havent managed to get pregnant long enough to know if these have fixed my issues since then!
I had it all done under the NHS
Shout if any questions xx

Hey Daisy. Thanks for replying. When i contacted my gp she did vaguely said she can do the tests in the surgery and she would refer me to a nhs hospital but in all emotions i just went ahead with private as i just cant bring myself to wait. Explains the amount of the bloods they took. Probably going to do it in Jan. How are you? Are you thinking of a fet? Xx
Hi I had a hysteroscopy with my lap and dye before IVF. I’m currently waiting for results of the thrombophilia blood test which I had a week ago (after third failed FET). Apparently they can take 6-8 weeks to come back so when they suggested it I did it straight away. Cost nearly £800 for me and my partner to have a blood test. Not heard of the third thing? My clinic don’t do NK tests. They said it’s been disproved?? Not that I’ve heard that anywhere else! X
Hey Marcy. Sorry u had a difficult journey as well. Didnt know they take that long. I didnt ask silly me. Initially i thought i would do everything in January but the gynae did say that they need to be repeated in 6 weeks. Not sure why maybe to confirm outcome. I didnt explore the male side of things as in the last few years he hd two samples and they always said he was fine. Not great but ok. So can i ask what test you did for your partner xxx
I’m sorry I actually don’t know what his test was for! They didn’t actually say. I had the thrombophelia one which was 7 tests and he only needed one. They said it was something genetic! I’m really interested in these Alice/Emma tests but my clinic Oxford doesn’t do them....
no worries Maryc. I think there have been quite some posts on alice Emma and loads of girls recommend them. Have a search and otherwise ask if someone can recommend a clinic near you? Xx
So do i Chantysal. Thats a great succes story. I wish we didnt need ivf at all and a magical test would tell us whats wrong. Hope hysteroscopy gives some answers for you. Keep us updated x x
Oh yes, most of them been recommended to myself. I did already some of them and I have few results back. I called my GP and she was very nice and booked me for a blood test just 3 days later. Thrombophilia screen contains actually quite a lot of tests, I think your doctor should specify which one to test for or otherwise do those that are covered by NHS like: lupus, coagulation, protein C and S etc. NK cells are not covered by NHS I am afraid but I saw a good price on Bristol hospital and they are covering plasma cell CD 58 and CD 138 at a price of £450- not bad at all. Hysteroscopy you can do on NHS but the list is crazy long. My GP sent a referral already I will get a reply by 11 of December.
Hi Ranchu. Because of the auto immune thyroid he recommended the once u mentioned under coagulation. I know am thinking i should have asked how my protocol would change if results come back positive for nk cells. Although he did mention if my clinic had considered steroids and blood thinners. I said no they didnt. I asked would that be something he would prescribe and he said depends on the test outcomes. Im afraid i wont be getting any answers soon but i will go for the hysteroscopy and at least rule any abnormalities out. Had a laparoscopy 2 years ago ehich didnt show any abnormalities. Hope you get more answers soon or at least can be reassured. X x x
They will have to change the protocol in case you have elevated NK cells. I know not all clinics are accepting protocols for NK cells as there is not enough evidence, but hope your clinic is open minded. Regarding Thrombophilia screening - it took me 6 days to get the results for Protein C and S and guess what, I need to call the doctor tomorrow as lab doesn't want to share the results without me talking to my GP first. Nail baiting ...I hope the results are not that bad 😬🤯😤
I think your clinic should have prescribed you blood thinner after first losses. My clinic did it after 2 chemicals as a routine protocol for recurrent miscarriages.
Are you trying to do Hysteroscopy on NHS or private?
I dont think my clinic offers nk tests but if everything else is clear this gynae said it will likely be immune issue and he said thats the hardest to deal with (great🥲). Not made my mind yet in that.
Im sure its not necessary a bad results but they perhaps think gp can explain it better cause labs just perform tests ? Hope that goes well🤞
I was nhs patient and my clinic doesnt do any extra things so its shot in the dark with them everytime.
I think im going for a private hysteroscopy because i can do it with my cycle in jan. Xxx
Hello, I’m sorry to hear about your early losses. We have been through the same, 3 early losses and all the same tests. They came clear and we were advised to carry on trying. It wasn’t until we paid for private tests that we found out we needed IVF. We found out that my AMH is low and my husbands sperm morphology is not where it needs to be. We start our first round in January. Keeping our fingers crossed for a good first round!
Hi lovely. Im so sorry you went through that, its sometimes is shocking to read difference between private and nhs. Its good you have some results and ive seen alot of success stories with low amh. Assuming that you felt pregnant naturally/iui thats also positive. We never felt pregnant naturally in 4 years and im also thinking to have my husband tested again as im wondering why nhs suggested icsi when they initially said his results were fine. Argg the helplessness in this all. Hope your ok and crossing everything for your ivf round xx
