Arrrrgh I am frustrated and confused

I was devastated on Friday after 7 days of stims they only find one follicle on the right side measuring 14mm. They upped my menopur to 300 a day. I prayed all weekend for at least one or two more to grow. Well one did grow on the left measured today at 11mm. But the one on the left is gone! Nurse was not able to tell me where it has gone but she said it happens sometimes. I dont think I was mentally prepared for emotional roller coaster that comes with IVF. I have 2 days to go before I find out if they are cancelling this cycle. As of today they upped my dose to 450. I dont think anyone can grow follicles to 18mm in two days. 😫🥺🥺🥺🥺

Just wanted to send you a hug. I too have had lots of ups and downs and disappointments on my journey and I know how soul destroying it can be. I don’t think you’re ever fully prepared for what a rollercoaster ivf is and the clinic never tells you either, they make it sound so simple at that initial appointment! I’ve had two cycles cancelled, the first was my long protocol after trying and failing to down regulate for 4 weeks and my second cancellation was a natural FET when I didn’t ovulate in time. I cried for days about both of them as it feels like such a waste of time and energy. I hope the increased dosage does the trick for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hey, I was in a very similar boat to you. I only had 2 follicles and I was completely distraught and convinced that all my work stress had caused the stims to fail (which obviously wasn't the case) Ended up with 3 at EC and 2 made it to day 3 for transfer. So please don’t lose hope, you only need 1! Wishing you all the very best and hoping your cycle isn’t cancelled 🤞🏽

Hi Bernie. Oh dear! Sometimes we do get some ovaries that are just resistant to some drugs, as it might be with you, I don't know of course. However, if it is abandoned, then they will try a different drug combination, so don't look at it as failing, it is "finding out". Thinking of you. Diane
