I’m currently taking 800mg (two pessaries a day) of Cyclogest. It’s not the first time I’ve taken it - I was on three pessaries a day back in July when I had a fresh transfer and was pregnant (sadly I had a miscarriage). When I took it then, I had a bit of an upset stomach, but this time the side effects are so much worse. I have period like cramps and backache every day, I’m always on the loo and I’ve felt sick and dizzy. Has anyone else experienced the same? We are trying naturally at the moment, and my recurrent miscarriage specialist has advised taking this dosage every month from ovulation. But I’m not sure how many months it’ll take to get pregnant and it’s pretty miserable! Any advice / similar experiences?? Thank you. x

Cyclogest - anyone else had awful side effects?
I haven’t taken these before, I started them last Wednesday when I had my egg collection and I’ve felt pretty much the same as you and did think it’s probably the pessaries. Glad I’m working from home because of the loo situation 🙈, really bad lower stomach and back cramps last two days but I had my transfer Monday. Felt really low and not myself as well. Haven’t got any solutions, sorry 🙁
Hi.. I'm on Cyclogest also 2x a day. Yes I have bad stomach cramps, diarrhea back ache. And feels period coming weird.
Hello 👋 I’ve just started to take Cyclogest pessaries also! Morning & evening! I’ve had cramps today, stomach & back ache and been on and off the toilet! Also been passing some mucus stuff and wondering if this is normal. This is my first IVF cycle so all new to me. Can’t offer any advice but just wanted to say I’m in same boat 🙋🏼♀️ xx
Thanks so much for your replies - it’s nice to know I’m not the only one having a hard time on cyclogest! I started spotting as well yesterday, and now I’m totally confused. I thought it might be implantation bleeding, but I’m still cramping and spotting today so I’m starting to think that perhaps my period is just coming very early (it’s due on Sunday). x
