I am on day 15 of Buserelin and have been really suffering with side effects pretty much since day 1. I’ve had a head splitting headache, nausea, V&D (gross sorry!) and have barely been able to stay awake. I’m a teacher and I’ve had to have most of the last fortnight off too, which is stressful but unfortunately unavoidable.
I asked my clinic if it was normal to be this ill and they’ve said yes- hopefully it will get better with stimulation (which starts tomorrow).
Has anyone else been really ill on Buserelin? If so, any tips?
Thanks so much.

Yes, very similar symptoms. I can't remember them getting much better tbh. That cycle was cancelled as I didn't respond and next time they said they wouldn't use it due in part to me having had such a bad time on it, but mainly I think as I didn't respond. I was fine on stims without it, but everyone's different. Hopefully you'll feel better and respond well but just so you know there can be other options and it doesn't mean you will feel like that on all meds.
Me 👋, I’m day 6 of Buserelin for a FET cycle. Yesterday I had to go to bed after coming back from being out for lunch, my husband was driving and I all of a sudden started to feel ill with migraine symptoms. I went to bed when we got home. I’m a bit better today but am tired, have a little brain fog and cramp. I’m hoping my period starts soon then I can book in my scan. Can’t wait to start other meds and stop taking Buserelin asap!!
I’m so sorry to hear this as I really do get it. It seems such a shame to feel so bloody rough when all you want is something positive! Hope things improve for you x
How long do you have to keep taking buserelin for? I think the clinic said approx 4 weeks for me. Will you be going back to work once stims start? I’m hoping I manage okay this week working, but my brain definitely isn’t in the usual gear! 😆 I hope you start to feel a little more yourself very soon.
hi there! I’m so sorry to hear you’re having a time of it with Buselerin (I hear you, I had a rough time on it too). I found using optase heated eye masks (you pop them in microwave to heat) really helped with the headaches. I also found stretching really helpful (just a ten minute full body stretch or some yoga with Adriene on YouTube ) helped to calm my anxiety a bit.
The nausea was a bit harder, but lemon water helped to cut through it a little (plain water sometimes made me gag a bit!). Peppermint tea helped with that too! X
Thinking of you and hope you get to come off it soon. ❤️
