Period type ache BEFORE FET tomorrow & side effects of medication - has this happened to anybody else?

Hi all,

After a long wait I finally have my frozen embryo transfer booked in for tomorrow. Problem is that I have had period type ache today and worried that it's going to be over before it's started!

I'm on a short medicated protocol. I will be on day 22 of my cycle today and usually get my period between days 28 - 31. I often get period pain a week before my bleed. The period aches I am getting are reminding me of those I got after my fresh transfer in July.

I'm not sure if this may just be a side effect of the Progynova or Progesterone pessaries, however I have been taking Progynova since day 1 of my cycle and Progesterone for 5 days now, and no period cramps until today.

I have had diarrhea for a few days coinciding with starting the pessaries and worried that this has reduced the thickness of my lining due to drugs not being absorbed (7.34mm on day 12 scan).

I will mention this at my appointment tomorrow if my x2 embies survive the thaw, but my appointment isn't until late afternoon.

Has anybody else had period cramps prior to transfer???

Any experiences appreciated.

The symptoms are coming from the drugs. I also had cramps and period symptoms before transfer, it is completely normal. Don’t worry. Be happy you can be a mum of beautiful twins soon. Good luck 🤞 and take care ❤️

Hi Orangeflowers. Could just be down to the side effects of medication, unless you've picked up a bit of a bug. Drink plenty of water and I hope all soon returns to normal. Diane
