Hi Ladies

My GP won’t prescribe progesterone as they said there is not enough evidence and my fertility clinic have said I shouldn’t need it in a natural pregnancy, but I’ve had two chemicals from ivf and a miscarriage in June this year. I have started spotting a little bit, which I know can be normal at 5 weeks but I’ve freaked out that it’s history repeating itself.

I’ve got some lubion and cyclogest left from my last cycle and my sister (who is a midwife) asked a doctor she works with if I should take them and she told me to go for it. I only have 4 lubion left so I started that last night, but if I take 3 pessaries a day I probably only have enough for 3 weeks. So would it still be beneficial to maybe only have one per day so I have extra for longer?? I’m unsure what dosage I need to have to help 🤷🏻‍♀️ or does anyone know how I could get more progesterone a different way?? thanks so much for reading xx 🌈🤞🙏

Hey and congrats:) I was on baby aspirin because of past miscarriages . Might be worth a shot? Nag your clinic ! Or even change surgeries. My mum changed surgeries and gets a much better response from her new gp.

Good luck hun xxx

Thank you! Hope everything is going well with you both?? Yeah I considered changing, it’s a shame too as my GP is really good and has been through ivf miscarriages and has even adopted so she can really relate 🤷🏻‍♀️ xxx

I would probably try 2 per day so you can eek it out and that would normally be what my clinic would routinely prescribe. As is a natural pregnancy your body should cope ok however it will do no harm to take the meds as a booster. Just remember when coming off them you should wean off so when you only have a few left then drop to one a day. Good luck. The only other thing is if you know anyone travelling abroad it can be bought over the counter but I guess nobody is going far at the moment with lockdown.xx

Oh really? Do you know where? Or is it most of Europe? My friend lives in Madrid so I might ask them to have a look into it! Thanks for your help! Hope everything is going well with your pregnancy? Xx

Ive bought them in Greece, I cant get cyclogest 400mg but can get utrogesan 200mg capsules. Im sure you can buy over the counter in Spain, defo worth an ask, she should be able to get one or the other. All ok with me thank you!xx
