I just wanted to share some positive news which might give others in a similar position some hope ...
With low AMH and high FSH we were never expected to achieve high numbers of eggs at collection when starting out with IVF, but we were left feeling really disheartened when only ONE follicle could be seen at our day 9 scan 😔
Less than 48 hrs before egg collection we were given the option of cancelling the cycle/turning it into an IUI instead. The hospital also indicated at this stage that we would most likely be looking at going down the egg donor route next time round, considering my poor response to the stimulation medication.
After chatting it through with the clinic we opted to stick with it as it was indicated that the follicle was a good size, and we also didn’t want to be in a position where we might always wonder what could have been.
Fast forward 3 weeks and this was definitely the right decision as we now have a BFP!! 🤩
Our one little embryo got to blastocyst stage (4AB) and then went on to implant which is just amazing!
People had tried to assure us that it only takes one good egg but we really didn’t hold out much hope as the odds just seemed to be so against us, and I suppose I just really want to stress here that it’s definitely not a numbers game ...
It’s obviously still early days so we won’t be getting complacent, but we are just over the moon to get to this stage after a rocky start!
This forum has been a godsend during my 2WW. I have read so many positive, helpful and supportive messages which have given me hope at such an anxious time.

Congratulations. That’s amazing. I too have low Amh, only got 3 eggs, but only 2 suitable for ISCI and only 1 fertilised which made it to blast and now 18 weeks pregnant.
I’m no expert at all. Only had the 1 round of IVF, but just from reading I truly believe that actually having fewer eggs can be a good thing and leads to better quality and therefore hopefully more likely to reach blast and a successful pregnancy.

Yay I'm 2 weeks ahead of you. Congratulations! We really only had 3 eggs as well (2 more did turn up on my last scan before collection but were too small to do anything with). Of the main 3 all of them fertilised. I got my little boy kicking me loads at the moment and we have x2 grade Bs in the freezer. So quantity low quality good!
Congratulations, that’s great news! I’m still waiting to feel regular movements, It’s the best feeling, also waiting to find out gender and getting impatient!!!
Hi Laura295 at the beginning of this year my AMH came back at 6.6 and FSH at 12.5 but I haven’t been tested again since so I’m not sure if they have changed since then as I think the clinic were a bit surprised at my poor response to the highest dose of Meriofert 😏
Such amazing news! Yay for all the ladies out there with low AMH. So happy you stuck it out. I felt like cancelling mine when there were only 3, but again our little one stuck. Thank you for posting this. Its so important not to loose hope when things aren't going how we would like xx

This is amazing news, congratulations and thanks for sharing. I suffer with low AMH and have been diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. My last cycle we only produced 2 eggs and only 1 got to early blastocyst and didn't implant. They say my best hope is for donor which I am not ready to do. Reading your story has only strengthened my belief that we must keep trying with our own eggs for now and given me so much hope for my next round.
