BFP line fading (UPDATE)

Morning! I’m so confused atm. My pregnancy test line today had faded significantly from yesterday. At the 3 minute mark it was undeniably faded. Now it’s less conclusive (30 mins on). I’ve attached the image of yesterdays and todays tests together as they look atm. Top image is yesterday’s test. I would think how they look at 3 mins is more telling. I fear we’re out of luck and this might be a chemical.

***update***

I have since retested and got a solid positive by the 3 minute mark.

Those tests were never designed to be used to compare hcg levels. In such a short window between tests, it could be your wee was more diluted, the test is less sensitive, the light is different day to day, they look pretty similar to me. And only a day apart I wouldn’t expect much else.

I know it’s so so hard (I’ve been there) but step away from the tests for a few days. First response tests do show progression if you test a few days apart. Otherwise you are only testing your eyes.

Fingers crossed for you xx

At the 3 minute mark it was so so weak. I’ve lost the plot entirely. I’m really not good with the not knowing element of this! Whenever I have tested negative I have quickly moved on. Testing positive early adds this whole other layer of anxiety 😬

I had my transfer done 5of last month, I was tested positive on 8th day with faint line, on the 11th day the line became very dark and deep, on day 16th I bled and day 17 every pregnancy feelings dropped,,, and I tested negative to blood test three days after.Am trying again ...

I read that as many as 50 % of all conceptions turn into chemicals before you hit week 5. I’m sorry you went through that and hope your next one works and stays x

I didn’t take your very wise advice. See attached how my latest test looks at three mins. I’m relieved.

That looks like a great line! I know I tested positive quite earlier and was a nervous wreck! Hang in there!!

Are you getting some bloods done ? If so I would definitely stop testing as you will drive yourself crazy !

No bloods. I definitely need an intervention 😂

Ohhh wow yeah could you pay for a blood test yourself ? Or just wait it out till your first scan ?

I could definitely try to pay to have bloods done. I will speak to the hospital on Monday about getting bloods done. I think based on my latest test all is fine.

It came up fast too. This mornings test at the 3 min mark was quite frankly terrifying. See attached 😱

Those are really strong lines so just stay positive and try to enjoy it. It might turn into a chemical, but it might not! For now, you are pregnant and something good is happening.

hey this is normal with HPTs based on urine dilution. I panicked too, 19-21dpt my lines were fading but my blood hcg showed strong numbers. My doctor recommended to stop HPTs as they don’t detect beyond a certain hcg value and this may happen. Best to get bloods done once in 96 hours until your first scan. You can go to any private clinic and ask for it. More importantly, congratulations🥳 ! You missy are preggers!

Thanks so much for this! I decided yesterday that I’m not buying any more tests. Once this batch have been used I’m stopping this morning ritual. Otherwise I might end up testing for the whole first trimester!! I’d quite like a blood test to find out whether it’s looking like one or both embryos stuck.

It's hard when you are comparing lines. Also the longer the test has been dried the darker it goes. You hCG only doubles every 42-72hrs so testing every day an be really deceiving. You could get 2 bloods 48hrs apart to show if the rise is good but you won't know until your scan if both embryos have stuck....for example a lady I cycled with had a higher hCG than me yet I was having twins and she had a singleton. Good luck, your lines look good.xx

Thanks for this insight, that’s really interesting. I just assumed it would be double what it ought to be. Have you had your babies?

Yes they are over 3yrs old now. hCG is quite complicated, numbers can be all over the place. If its incredibly high it may be twins may its not a given. Mine was a little higher which suggested twins but like I said a friends was higher and she only had one baby.xx

Try not to test daily. It's going to be different. Or your eyes will see different. Some tests can be more sensitive. Even the same brand/same box. Try to relax . Both are strong Positives!! Maybe give it a week before another test. You are probably due a scan soon. Unless you've tested really early... Step away from the tests.. It's hard, but it won't change the outcome and will waste you money!! Congratulations on the Positive! Xx

I think these lines look good. From someone who drove herself mad comparing line progression, I realised that they are just not that sensitive. I drove myself to tears as my tests didn’t get darker until day 13 after transfer, yet the HCG bloods were 1035 and the pregnancy progressed fine. As long as the line is visible (which yours certainly is) just gotta go with it 🙏🙏

Good luck, but looks good to me. Hope you get a smooth ride going forward 🍀🍀

Thank you very much ❤️. I’m feeling surprisingly Zen this evening but I did think it was game over the other morning. Two sleeps until OTD 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
